I don't think Edmonton trades hall for pretty much anything. Future captain in my opinion.
- rmdevil313

I think Eberie would be captain and with the addition of Perron, it's not hurting Ed at all
because they get better in every other part of their team. They have enough top six guys, they need defense and bottom six guys that are young and have experience in the NHL like every player in the trades I've proposed give them.

I think a few guys would fit our team but we have no room
- Slimtj100

I think you guys just need someone to be a threat from the perimeter. I thought ryder would have been a great fit for you guys, but as you said, didn't really have the room.

Hall was their best player last season and plays with a non stop motor. They are not giving him up without a hefty package going back. Look at what seguin got, a great, proven winger, and 3 good prospects. Hall is more proven and doesn't have maturity issues.

I would love to see a deal with the Peg for Kane. I mean if we are going to over pay for someone why should it be a 29 year old Vanek. The problem is we only have Henrique/Zajac to offer them. They are likely not interested in a D prospect as they have Trouba and they just took another D in the first round this year. But Lou has to no if you are forced to overpay you might as well overpay for the younger asset. If we had a first next season we should of just offer sheeted Bogo lol go back to the early 2000's devils style

This is way off topic but really why would we trade Larsson for anything other then a top ten player I would say he has proven just as mush or just slightly less then coutier and the flyers wouldn't move him for Weber but we should trade him and Henrique for Vanek I should hope we could demand a kings ransom for Larsson

Yeah, winnipeg aren't great trading partners with us. They are going to have one hell of a defense though. Trouba is a monster, and they already have Enstrom, Buff, and Bogosian. Also drafted Morrisey this year.

I was watching highlights of Santini the kid is going to be a stud like A train in his prime but a way better skater a little like Stevens I thought with out the offensive touch. Boy do we miss him. I cant recall if I ever got a reply out of anyone last time I said it but could you imagine if we had Dumba that kid can hit and with Scotty as the D coach he can teach him timing and what not so he isn't pinching like Subban looking to kill someone those hits come to you, you don't have to chase after them lol

All I'm trying to say is, that with a good trade BOTH teams get better because of the players exchanged. We would be giving up a ransom for both of them in JJ, Lokti, Matteau, Urbom, Volch, Sal, Gelinas/Scarlett, and 2016 1st. Are any of the young guys experienced as much as the two? No, but they have enough guys with talent that what they lose, they would be getting more going to Ed. Just saying...

But edmonton doesn't get better. They lose their best player for a bunch of mediocre assets that are either old and declining, or unproven. Then you throw in Gagner and it really makes no sense for them.

Yeah, we haven't had any Russians work on our team before. Brylin and Fetisov off the top of my head.

Gagner only scores about 15 goals a year, which Lokti would of scored if it was a full year and would fill Gagner's lose imediately. And they have enough top talent, they need those other pieces to be competitive in their division. Never say never.

To be honest I think the price for Hall would out weigh what he would bring It doesn't matter if he isn't Crosby they will demand an amount that could just about get you Sid. Its not so much what a player is worth its more what a player is worth to his team.

The coyotes made the play offs with worse imo

Glad someone said this. Yotes have pulled of some poop with some horrendous offensive lineups on paper. But they found chemistry and system that works for them. Hopefully we can do the same.

Have you seen Zherdev play though? Never backchecks ever, drove the Rangers into fits. Would rather have Garbagevski if we're going for a Russian and convert him to a winger.

that guy is a piece of poop but I think it's hilarious how people talk so much poop about russian players when there are plenty of very good russian hockey players who played in the states through time. A lot of people talk about russians being lazy but for the most part we only get the high offense guys because you could pay and american or canadian the same amount of money to play and a lot of the russian grinders would rather just live in russia.

That's a pretty good point. There isn't much point in playing here for 1-2million a year a grinder or defensive forward when you could get that in your home country

and if kovy was bothered by the money being in escrow and exchange rates or whatever, it's going to be really poopty for some guy who makes a lot less.

Agree to a point, Yotes defense was probably better then the Devils right now and their goalie (Smith) was playing on an elite level. Not sure if Marty can do that at this stage of his career and I don't think Cory is going to be #1 right now....BTW I would of loved to get Vermette, he's one of my favorite players

what the hell does me liking when a player has swag have to do with my not understanding how hockey works? obviously games aren't won on swag. the fact that you thought i was implying that makes you seem retarded.
