Isles first round pick for Schneider?

You still have Brodeur.

You don't have first rounder next year, and you never know what the Crazy Isles will do!!!

Could be a top 5 pick!!!

Well, if we missed the playoffs we would have a chance of winning the lottery, but the percentage would be low if we were 14th compared to say 5th.
- Devils9503

I doubt we see that happen though. I am certain we will finish near 14th and not win the lottery hell we could finish 30th and I think the team that comes 29th would win it over us

People keep saying Grabo would be a good fit. He probably would, but we would'nt have the cap to sign him. If we sign Brunner and resign Henrique 3 million per year we would have about 6 million than we would have to resign JJ, 1-1.5, and only have 4-3.5 million left. Grabo made 5 million last year and will probably look for around 4, unless we trade Volch and Lokti or put Henrique on the wing we would have no cap and no room for him as center. AND Henrique would have to be in the top 6 not Clowe. Elias, Henrique, and Clowe as the left wings.

The guy I would rather get is Sam Gagner from Edmonton. Lokti, Volch, Urbom, maybe JJ and a pick. Zajac, Henrique and Gagner as our centers (not in that order specially).

True, we were 9th this past year and lost to Colorado, who was 2nd with a 20ish percent to win.

Me too, probably anyone on here agrees. He's a solid two way player, but doesn't know when to shot. I would even see what little more it would cost to get Hall and reunite him with Henrique, they played in Windsor. Maybe Matteau and a pick more with the offer I proposed above for Hall, Gagner, and MAYBE Hemsky, he gets injured alot but is very skilled.

To Edmonton:
Lokti (Could play with Nail)
Volch
Urbom
JJ
Matteau
2016 1st
Gelinas/Scarlett
Salvador? (He would have to go for cap reason)

To NJ:
Hall
Gagner
Hemsky

Would prefer Hall and Gagner over Hemsky for what we would be giving up.

Not a chance. We're giving up a lot of mediocre assets at best, not to mention that kind of guts our franchise in terms of depth.

Why Not?
Lokti is only 23 and would fit well with Yakupov.
They need defense so why not Volch, Urbom, Gelinas/Scarlett, Salvador. Two solid young defensemen and two veterans to fit in nicely with their D.
IMO I don't see Matteau being any more than a third liner.
And the 2016 1st, which could be anything, it's a first.
And they gave up Horcoff and are thin in the middle, so send JJ to Edmonton, he's not gonna get a chance here with Zajac, Henrique, and Lokti at the moment, so give him another chance somewhere else.

We would lose depth, but if we sign Brunner and sign a solid bottom pairing defensemen it gives Severson or Merrill or Gelinas the chance to show what they got, or they could wait and see what the three kids can do in camp and then sign a veteran it two or all don't make the team. And with Hall and Gagner, their young, so it's not like we're getting older.

I don't have NHL13 and if you get rid of Hemsky the trade does more for Edmonton. They get a second and third line centers, two solid young and veteran defenseman, their defense would be better, a guy who can fit on the third or second line with size (matteau), and a first for Hall and Gagner.

There was also 0% chance Ed trading Gretzky, Kovy retiring, getting Schneider for only a pick, but they all happened. There is always a chance if the right parts are in place.

The trade is absolutely awful for Edmonton. Period. There's no other way to put it. You give up scraps while Edmonton gives up 3 top 6 FW.

Something like Volch or Sal would have to go becuase Hemsky's cap is like 5+, in order to sign Henrique and Brunner.

Ok lets put a more fair trade together then
To Edmonton for Hall: Larsson, Matteau, Tedenby
To Edmonton for Gagner: Henrique, Wedgewood
To Edmonton for Hemsky: Josefson

If they are shopping Gagner and Hemsky and want a lot they won't get someone like Vanek. They are trying to get better and young, they have enough top line guys in Hall, Yakupov, Eberie, Hopkins, Gagner, Perron, and Hemsky. IF Gagner is available, I'm saying I would at least ask about Hall because the trade that I proposed makes Ed better all around besides goaltender, where they only have Smyth and their defense gets better because all they have is Schultz and maybe Belov.

As of now, no. But it doesn't seem like there is much interest out there for whats left, so it looks like it is probable.

1. Trading Larsson wouldn't help at all wouldn't mind the other two, even if we got Hall.
2. Trading Henrique when he is more valuable than Gagner makes no sense.
3. Add Volch.

I'm only saying we trade all of what I proposed because it makes Ed a better team in every other part of their team. Second, third, lines and defense.

With Perron, they now have the capability to move someone like Hall without it hurting them and they've been trying to trade Gagner.
