Ya I know but after this whole situation unless a great offer presents itself I sort of want to avoid a "star player" to build the team around that isn't home-grown. This whole Kovalchuk situation has left a really really really (did I say really?) bad taste in my mouth.

Coming from the guy who wants the devils to trade the farm for a Vanek rental. Devils don't want or need Vanek, especially if they grab Brunner. They have young wings that can coming in a year or two from now and learn from real pros like Ryder, Elias and Clowe. I'm sure you're ideas and opinions are are welcomed on the Garth poop show thread. But Brunner at 4 million > Vanek at 7.1 million. That's not opinion that how the Devils management view it.

No not really. The Rangers are actually a damn good team and Sather did a really good job trading and drafting. And you know it. Sabres are a joke. And baseball isn't the only thing NY wins at. Norwood ring a bell? Buffalo. Perpetual city of losers.

Nice thing about Brunner is he has excellent positioning, at least from what I've seen. He knows where to be on the ice for the rebounds & loose pucks.

He could work very well with Elias, but so would Ryder. Problem is now with Kovy gone no one on this team is even in the same league as Elias.
