Well most on here think Hodgson is going to be very good, why can't Moulson get 30 with him?

Regier said he last spoke to the players’ agents around the draft. He hasn’t had any contract extensions talks.
“Talking to my counterparts around the league, that’s not unusual right now,” Regier said about the extensions. “For whatever reason, there’s not a lot of activity on players that are slated to become unrestricted in ’14, and there have not been a lot of contracts signed with those players now. I don’t know whether that will change in the next month or six weeks.”

Isn't that f@#k the general manager of THIS hockey team?!?

Why does he need to hear/follow/react to what his "counterparts" are doing?

He can't talk extension with any of HIS OWN free agents because the other GM's told him that it's not unusual to not have talks right now?

"I don't know whether that will change in the next month or 6 weeks"?!?!?!?! Well, who the (frank) does, Darcy?!? The tooth fairy?!?

Jeezuz, no wonder why this team never makes the playoffs.

Darcy, YOU ARE TERRIBLE. Go to your lake cottage or whatever it is you do during July and August, because you obviously can't run a hockey team properly because of what your "counterparts" are doing.

Joke.

Your getting mad that our GM is talking to other GMs about how others in the league conduct business? Pretty sure that happens a lot with all the GMs.

Not saying he will but Moulson could be a very good player here and I'm not someone who wants Vanek traded. If by some reason Vanek is moved a 30 goal scorer in return plus EVERYONE"S FAVORITE, another PICK, why not do it. Personally i'm tired of all the picks we need players back for Miller and Vanek if they are moved.

The main reason is Moulson's age. If he was 26, I'd absolutely be for it. Plus, NYs pick could be quite high, around 20 or so. IMO, they're cup contenders if their goaltending improves.

Who'd u want for Vanek?
Strome and Reinhart won't be traded. So cross them off

They are not cup contenders if they upgrade in goal, they are few players away.

The way they kept up with the Pens, I'll stick to my opinion. If it weren't for the BS tripping call on the Crosby dive, they would've beat them IMO.

Nothing special about Strome and we don't need more Centers.

He could end up like a Spezza or turn out to be (the Good tim Connolly )

it's a risk but we have to take a chance

I do think Hodge is going to be a good player... I see him as a better Roy basically... mostly offense not a lot of defense but Roy was a puck hog and Hodge is a better passer IMO.

Moulson - Hodge/Grigo - Armia

that could be pretty darn fun to watch.

Yea.... that hurts that discussion an awful lot doesn't it... if he had this year and next it would be a different discussion... but it is going from one rental to another rental but we pick up a mid-teen 1st rounder.

I don't know... I bet we could resign Moulson and it would be a helluva cheaper than Vanek is too.

I understand the Devils fans reluctance to give up Adam Henrique in a trade, but to act like Buffalo needs to give up Vanek ++ for Adam Henrique alone is ridiculous.

Vanek has a proven track record of years of consistent production. He is not some bum, far from it. Personally, I am sick of reading foolish posts by others acting like Vanek is some 2nd or 3rd line plug. Hate the contract or not, respect the player as he has earned it.

Henrique has 89's favorite word : potential, to go along with a strong 1st full season two years ago (16 35 51).

He has no track record to speak of.

Vanek is a proven 30 goal 60 point producer over his career.

Keep Vanek instead and try to resign. I prefer him over Moulson. I for some reason dont believe this rumor though anyway. It has been brought up before.

Vanek already said "F U" to a 8M per year for 7 year contract....

I like him... and know he is our best scorer... but he is coming off as a complete b1tch in this whole situation. I am not blaming the guy for saying "hey.. I wanna know how long this rebuild is going to be because I am getting up there in age and want to win a ring" but that isn't what he said.
