1000% agreed! omg its sickening, everyone knows crosby is great, but ill bet dollars to donuts pierre mcguire wants to make out with him, when the playoffs started they all "predicted" the champs, 9/10 of them predicted the pens, god i felt great when they got rosted by the B's

We've never had anyone as good as Stamkos in our system as far as goal scorers go since probably Yzerman. You need a good team to win the cup not a good player. And our kids are coming along nicely.

Basically, a prospect with a lot of potential that never lived to the hype.
That's why he was not re-signed by the Wings.

weve been over this.... he isnt "BAD" he was offered a contract by detroit, just wasnt for 5 mil, so he left, hes decent, but only a new system and time will show if hes worth that sort of pay out

As a center, he is indeed bad, he played ok on the wing, sometimes.
Regardless, not a 5 mil player, 3 mil was perfect.

well in terms of a 2C, 5 million is the going rate, you always over pay at UFA, thats why you arent supposed to rely on that, and instead build from draft and TWEEK at UFA

Mr. Yzerman has had the opportunity to watch both Wiess recently and Filppula over his career, so I guess he made his decsion.

fillpula is here to win faceoffs. at 55% thats fair enough as a 2nd line center
he is here to play a consistant game at all 200 ft of the ice.
no one expects him to have 40+ points, but maybe he will in tampa...nobody knows..
no one expects him to make huge hits and lay the body all the time, hes a 2nd line center, not 4th

ALL we needed at 2c was a guy who could come in and play an all around solid game and win faceoffs...thats it..

Maybe the Wings bloggers should have a round table on Weiss then we don't have to hear their bullsh*t here.
