Hey Ricky Boy, of Kessel, Lupul, JVR or Clarkson who does Hemsky replace in the top 6?
Why do you think there hasn't been a trade yet? Nobody wants him. Soft players who at the very least don't light it up aren't welcome on Carlyle's team. - Flats
It's jVR for hemsky, didn't you know? |

So seriously, do you think the Oilers (at the moment) can finish in the top three of the new Conference? Or at least challenge for a wild card spot? - LeftCoaster
And you think the nucks can finally playing in a strong conference??? |

Id say they still got the inside track on the top 3 in division A.

Perhaps now but its not much to say that a player in his prime is better then our teams teenagers. Get back to us in a year or two when hall and yaks are 1-2 in league goal scoring. |

Actually, I don't recall ever mentioning the Canucks.

Oiler fans have googles glued to their heads. In fact you all sound like Leaf fans of the past. "Wait til next year" - isn't that what you're all saying? So much talent why can't you make the playoffs is what all you loser Oiler fans are saying. Meanwhile everyone outside that s*#thole of a city can see they have no goaltending, no defence and soft skilled offensive forwards. Yeah that's a recipe for success.
This is the year Oiler fans, lol. |

I think it's a long shot at best, still not deep enough down the middle. But what do I know. - LeftCoaster
I agree that playoffs may be stretching it a little bit.....but the more that I look at our Centers, the more comfortable im becoming with it.....We have a two, more or less, solid 1 and 2 Centers in Nuge and Gags (Gags needs to work on his defensive game though) A stable and reliable 3rd line C who can win faceoffs and adds intensity in Boyd Gordon....The only problem i see is the 4th line center spot. Lander I dont think fits the bill for our fourth line and I think the Oilers should consider packaging him into a deal for perhaps a better 2nd line C or a 3rd line LW and 4th line C |

I don't know why the blues were so eager to get rid of Perron. He probably didn't fit Hitchcock's system. I was choked that the oil got him.
But.... I hope he sucks for you guys. haha. Nice pick up though. |

8th place and then they lost 9 of the next 10 in crunch time and finished 12th.
They really werent close to a playoff team
With no more additions, this team needs alot to go right to get in.
They need another quality piece imo - hugefemale dog77
Well close. they went 3-7 in final 10.
Ended up 10 points off 8th, and even going 8-2 in final 10 to get those elusive 10 points they still would have lost the total wins tiebreaker vs Min.
They needed to go 8-1-1 at the very least.
So yeah, they weren't close...but they were at the same time. they were within 10 games of the playoffs, and that was what the majority of fans wanted. To be in contention late in teh season.
The team is improving every year since they drafted Hall.
They finished last with equal points as the year before, but better special teams and improved face offs and other statistical improvements.
Next year they got more points, though 2nd last.
Now they are better again and got close to playoffs. |

You Leaf fans are all the same....WE MADE THE PLAYOFFS IN A SHORTENED SEASON WOOOOOOOOOOOO WERE THE BEST!!!!! Well buddy our "soft skilled offence" has a bit more skill potential than your "God-Like" line of Kessel, Lupul and CBC poster boy Kadri ......also dont give it to Oiler fans for "Next Year". You Leafs fans practically invented doing that |

I'd highly recommend ignoring that. There are certain people in the St. Louis media who comment on hockey when it has a big story or they want to criticize the team & it's fans, but otherwise just cover baseball and football. Most Blues fans I know don't take what they say very seriously. To be fair, those people were critical of Perron and his attitude prior to the trade. But... they aren't hockey people.
Jeremy Rutherford puts out quality stuff for the Blues... Andy Strickland sensationalizes his stuff a bit in my opinion, but is also well informed. The people criticizing Perron like Bernie Miklasz aren't opinions worth Oiler's fans being concerned over. - Antilles
Andy Strickland straight up flipped out on Lowe after the Penner offer sheet in a blog on hockeybuzz. The blog was incredibly rude and shock-jocky if I recall correctly, in an era where Cloutier/Berry blogs weren't the norm.
I wonder whether he likes the Oilers much at all. |

In his case, I'm assuming, it involves Phaneuf's nut sack, seeing how kessel's would be more if a monocle. |
