And Ironically, we won more rounds of playoff hockey in our last appearance then your franchise has in its entire history.

My franchise?

Man, I'm not exactly struggling for cash, but I'd never claim to own the Coyotes...

Ill see your MacDavid as a Coyote and raise you NHL expansion by next summer, which would eventually see Macdavid somewhere super gay like Las Vegas/Seattle

I agree. We are going to see 2 NHL expansions come in and they might be the McDavid year. I think Quebec, Seattle and Markham all plan on having their arena's finished before the 2015-2016 season. I don't think that is a coincidence. I also hear that a non coyote team wants to move to one of these rinks. I am looking for the article I read that suggested this. It was suggesting the new conferences was due to a team moving to Seattle and becoming a western team. It made some references that sounded like the panthers but it didn't say for sure. Could have been any team not making money in the East.

Just curious...please advise which Oiler is better than Kessel...
I must have forgot how many Oilers have more than 57g, 87a, and 134p over the last 2 seasons...

- BoBBeR56

Kessel first three years in the league versus Jordan Eberle first three years in the NHL.
Games played
Kessel 222 Eberle 195
points
Kessel 126 Eberle 156

I could be mistaken, but I do t believe an expansion team automatically gets the first over all pick. I think they are slotted in 2nd or 3rd though.

It has been so long, I am not sure. I don't know if the rules will be the same as the last expansions either. I do imagine they will pick near the top and I would think that they would make a play for top pick as a ticket seller.

Columbus picked 4th and Minni picked 3rd last time around. Was there a lottery in 2000?

Kessel is one of those who's slightly over rated by leaf fans, but at the same time seriously under rated by everyone else.

Maybe but Eberle and Hall both have better #s than Kessel in their first three years in the league plus Kessel played on a superior team in his first three years. Halls # 171 games played 145 points

Yup. Believe me, we recieve it too. Leafs fans don't have a monopoly on players being underrated...or on trades being flamed needlessly.

Skinner had more points than Hall in his first year. Does that mean he is a better player? Of course not.

Few defenseman have had a better first three years than Dion Phaneuf, but that certainly doesnt mean Dion is the best in the NHL.

Right now, today, I would say Kessel is better than both. Tomorrow, who knows.

Players I'd like to see us acquire:

Clifford
Jägr
Morrow
Tyutin

Top 4 dman, young rugged winger with 15 goal potential, and two excellent vets. I think we have the assets to get Clifford and tyutin. Just not sure tyutin is available.

Edit: we could use another centre. I'll get chewed out by some (dont care) but signing mueller for 1 year is ok in my books.

Hall gagner yak
Clifford nuge ebs
Perron mueller jägr
Morrow Gordon jones

No. He is not.

Potter's money makes him a #7 with no issue, but Gilbert will want too much.

NS and Gibby are, as they were at the time of the trade, equals but different.

You do not know enough of Belov to know your words are true.

Awesome, Penner is better than Smyth and Eager, a couple of 4th liners, and Joensuu who is basically a reclamation project.

Is he better than Jones? Skillwise, maybe...too bad he is too lazy to show up.

Agreed.

- OilHorse

You clearly missed on Belov the "(unless he's really good)"

Gilbert>N Schultz potter larsen. He's bad upgrading sh*t, but it's an upgrade. I don't think you guys remember how good Gibby was

Jones is not good. He's known for his defensive ability, when really he's constantly out of position and has terrible D zone coverage. People just think he's trying really hard because he falls all the imte.

Tough to demonstrate, but I mean Kessel is literally better at shooting the puck hard/accurate.

Shooting percentage wouldn't factor in where on the ice they're shooting the puck, whether they were forcing the shots, whether they just got a gimmie from a teammate etc.

Again, it is just my opinion watching Kessel that his shot is essentially his best quality.

- Morris

I just think if your shot goes in more frequently/per shot, you've got a better shot. Also TO plays in the east so Kessel had the benefit of playing Lindback, young Markstrom/theodore, Ellis, bryzgalov, pavelec, nabokov, price(who had a .905)

Stop. Gilbert isn't coming here, and good. I'd like to see us be better defensively, not worse. Gibby is a giveaway machine and soft and wouldn't improve anything. Better than Potter? Big deal. Who isn't?

Guess everyone is wrong about Jones. except you.

I'm not a Kessel hater. He is pretty funny and if you see him at functions such as the all star game he is liked by other players as well. He's just a one dimensional guy. He is what he is. A guy that will put points up. He's a pretty affable guy. He's not a guy you build a franchise around though. Phaneuf on the other hand is hated by other NHL players and its a douche.

But at this point in their careers I'll stick with Hall, Yak, Nuge and Ebs.

a lot agree with me. a lot of oiler fans accept mediocrity. the same people that were too attached to MPS are the ones that think Jones is a quality player

Accept mediocrity....yet you would bring Gilbert back. and Penner.

We really will have to just agree to disagree on those two.

This.

And honestly. I don't think Gilbert is better than Potter. Potter has the best shot on our D. And is good on the pp. Used properly, he is a perfect #7 dman.

dear god. Potter's a good 6/7. Gibby played 23 mins a night for EDM last year and didn't fair badly at all. To say potter>gibby aye aye aye
