Do any fans of other teams agree that universally Islanders fans and Leafs fans have gotten extremely obnoxious since they stopped being terrible? |

Lou has said he's known that this was in the works/a possibility for some time, correct? |

Pretty much since the lockout last year it sounds like... Here's this is a good link with a complete timeline of his devils tenure.

I figure let them have their day in the sun. It'll make it all the worse when they're back out of contention again next postseason

My friends that are islander fans would not shut up about it and both Leafs and Isles fans have been quite obnoxious on twitter and other social media |

That's hilarious considering the Islanders haven't had any actual success since before most people who post here were even born - JohnPaulNJ95

Jagr isn't the answer. he is old. He blew in the post season too. Damien Brunner is the answer. If Lou can sign him 3 years at 3mill per. That would be awesome. He already denied the Wings offer to him. It was a short team deal...maybe abother 1 or 2 year deal. I want Brunner (Vanek would be nice but we have no trading chips), Morrow, or at least Raymond. - ILWT3
On the Jagr point, I think that people look at the fact that he didn't score in the playoffs, and say he stunk. I watched alot of those Boston playoff games, and he was really effective and noticeable, even if it didn't lead to goals, in which department he was somewhat snakebitten.
As to Brunner, I think the Devils should approach that one with caution. He can score goals, that is true, but he tailed off significantly as the season progressed, and there is a reason why the Red Wings weren't interested in re-sigining him, and he hasn't been resigned to date. He is somewhat soft, and there are substantial questions about whether he the type of player that is willing to pay the price.

Thought i was the only one who noticed and realized this. He played the best playoff for a guy who never scored. He was creating and still causing problems not to mention he stole Seguins spot. Oh and he rang iron about a dozen times. He's slowed considerably but he's still useful especially on the PP. |

I agree. Brunner hit a wall. I'd rather have Jagr for a year. I thought he was better in the playoffs than his numbers indicated, and he had an excellent season. For him to be important in the playoffs the Devils have to get there first. I think Jagr presents a greater likelihood of making that happen. And it's imperative that we make the playoffs given the loss of the first round pick. |

Kovalchuk didn't leave for family, the greedy bastard left for money. He is full of poop, and I really hope people aren't dumb enough to believe family was the main reason he left.
Don't think Brunner is a guy who can hit 50 points here. We don't have anybody like Datsyuk or Zetterberg for him to play with. He is 27 so it isn't like he is a young kid coming off a solid year. Thomas Vanek is a UFA next season but he is going to be 30...throw $7 million at him I guess. |

Jagr was definitely snake bitten. He could have had a few. However, it was undeniable he had to take very short shifts......and that was after a 48 game season. I'd be really concerned what an 82 game season does to his legs. I don't hate him like some Pens fans. I actually would have rather had him over Iggy at the trade deadline because he was still pretty good in Dallas. I just can't get over how quickly he tired from shift to shift.

Jagr 1 year deal? It would make good sense. He had a good season last year. It would enable us to transition to next year's powerful group of FAs with more offense this season. - BarryB1124
Some issues with with Jagr I had, the first being he's incredibly slow. So slow every time he comes back the bench it comes close to too many men penalties.
Next problem I had with him for the Bruins was that does what he wants and could care less how it impacts the play. His entire line has to adjust their play to what he's doing or it is a disaster. Sure, it can be fun to watch Jagr tool around the corners for a few seconds and he will get some scoring chances. When the puck needs to be dumped in so everyone can make a line change, Jagr is dangling around the blue line with the puck trying to fend off 3 opposing players who inevitably get a turnover. If he doesn't care for his linemates he won't pass it to them, a couple times early on he was literally taking the puck from Kelly's stick in the offensive zone.
It is cool to see Jagr out there, he can make some creative passes and mix in some razzle dazzle. But he gets so tired, stays on the ice too long, and holds the puck like its is 1994. |

Jagr wouldn't sign with the Devils. He is looking to win a cup and right now, New Jersey is not the place to do that. He'll sign somewhere else.

I'd say a better shot than you'll have of getting them to play in Brooklyn. You're getting progressively worse with each post by the way. I love how one year of making the playoffs as an 8 seed makes a whole fan base cocky. The Devils did it back in 87-88 then missed the playoffs the following year. Good shot you're doing the same. - BarryB1124
Devils didn't become a playoff power house till 96-97. Devils beat the wings in 95 and missed the next year. In 97 that's when they started the run. |
