Luv this short bit from Russo's column in the Star-Tribune.
http://www.startribune.co...orts/blogs/215100131.html
--The Stanley Cup will be in Minnesota today and tomorrow. Nick Leddy, 22, the Wild’s 2009 first-round pick who was once traded to Chicago for some guy, gets his day with the Cup after winning it with the Chicago Blackhawks last month. Leddy is the 30th Minnesota native to have his name etched on the Cup.
That's gotta sting! |

Wasn't saying he didn't accomplish great things. Was saying that decision was really really awful and any attempt to explain it is a lame one. He really (frank)ed up and seems to take no heat for it as he should. I don't think he had a plan for forfeiting the pick. I think he was just putting it off because "who cares about 4 years from now." sort of thing. Has nothing to do with what he accomplished in the past.
EDIT: Amazing resume but more than a few laughable (frank) ups later on? See Sather, Glen....................... Game. Set. Match. Don't give me the resume argument for how he can't make a mistake. - mrhattrick27
I never said he couldn't make a mistake. he obviously drafted matteau and severson for a reason. maybe lou knew he was getting this up coming draft pick back
Glen Sather is sh**. There is no comparison lol. Quite honestly there is no other GM you can even compare Lou to and what he accomplished for the "micky mouse club" |

Lets be fair. When it comes to signing free agents, Sather is awful. When it comes to trades, anyone that can dump Gomez AWFUL contract, and get Ryan McDonagh back, is a genius. Dude makes solid trades. |

You're proving my point... impressive resume doesn't mean you all of a sudden can't be a poopty GM later down the line. And he (frank)ed up a couple of times now but he's a god in your eyes that can do no wrong....
If he (frank)ed up there was some sort of master plan behind it. C'mon man. admit it. Last few years he's (frank)ing up a lot but takes no heat. The 1st rounder thing, the Kovi contract to begin with, the Clowe deal is just stupid... it's not some master plan here. He is making mistakes that are indefensible... I am not a hypocrite too, as I don't know what the (frank) Sather is thinking keeping Richards and should take heat for it amongst the maaaaaannnnnnnnyyyyyyyyy other mistakes. Even if those rings he earned happened here. (frank)-ups are (frank)-ups. |

No GM is perfect. Lou has been trying to navigate some pretty tough waters recently. The kovy contract really wasn't his idea, it was ownerships. The first contract was completely legal under the CBA. Let's let clowe play before we consider him a major (frank) up, he will be overpaid, but doesn't mean he can't be an impactful signing. 90% of ufas are overpaid. |

Serious question. Will any of you devil fans move with the team when they relocate to Seattle or Quebec? - Vukota
Well I followed them from Colorado to NJ so ...yes...how about you, will you follow the Isles to Brooklyn or will you be scared and not go (btw, I grew up in Brookyln and I am excited about them joining the Nets there) |

What can be more scary than going to the Mauseleum and having to worry the whole game that a cinderblock or metal beam is going to fall on your head?

pretty nice Devil fans in here not reporting you. you were being quite the class A douchebag.
Talking a lot of smack for a guy who cheers for a franchise who made the worst 1st overall draft pick in history, along with giving out the worst contract in NHL history, and who's team has been poop the past decade or so, and who only made the playoffs this season b/c of the short season.
show some respect to a franchise that is in all aspects better than yours.
i wouldnt be surprised to see the Devils finish ahead of the Islanders. Devils goaltending on a scale of 1-10 is 1 million times better than Evgeni Chokebakov and Kevin (frank)ing Poutine. Your offense is mediocre apart from your top line, and as the season went alone this past season it clearly showed that they were slowing down.
Oh and your defense isnt that much better at all from the Devils. Atleast the Devils have a solid guy thats dependable in all situations in Andy Greene, while your best dman is a 22 year old who all he does is hit. |

Yeah, I live in West Islip now (family reasons lol) but I will be going to plenty of Isles games there. Just wondering if they are going to change their colors like the Nets did (love it) Barclays is awesome - Gambi99
Yorkman wants to incorporate the Nets Black & White somehow into the isles uniforms but hasn't said if it will be a 3rd jersey. Wang is on record saying as long as he owns the team the uniform will not change. Maybe they add some B & W into the ones now but not sure how that will look |

.... Most Islander fans I know are kind of split on them going to Brooklyn. I happen to love the idea for many reasons but some have said they will not go there...it's a shame because Barclays is a site to be seen and I feel the Islanders can finally get out of that rat-hole in Nassau (even though I saw them win 4 cups there ) |
