I think Ruopp is a player to keep an eye on. Physical, stay at home defenseman who can hit hard. Could be a future Orpik-type player.

From Hockey Future:

Ruopp is a physical defenseman who is most noticeable on the ice for his ability to regularly deliver devastating, bone crunching checks. Possessing a defensive-first attitude and a tough-as nails disposition, Ruopp plays a very simply game in his own zone and prides himself on being very difficult to play against. He possesses a good hockey IQ, and is good at reading and quickly reacting to opposing forwards. Though he will never be mistaken for an offensive defenseman, Ruopp is good enough with the puck to send it quickly up ice and out of danger. He will need to continue to refine his game, particularly his zone coverage and gap control, but he has the toolbox to be a shutdown defenseman at the professional level.

Anyone ever hear of Jean-Sebastien Dea? Undrafted, but put up 45 goals last year in the QMJHL.

Never said either. But there is a top line in Pittsburgh and there is a second line. It's a very good second line. But it's a second line.

I consider it the first line 50% of the time.

yeah, and Max Talbot scored 46 goals one season in the QMJHL......doesn't mean it translates to the NHL.

How much of that is because the line is great and how much of that is because Malkin is a top 5 player in the world?
- Morris

He can't be a top 5 player in the world...he plays on the 2nd line...

How many top players in the world does it take to make a 2nd line a 1st line?

It's weird, because when you think about it a couple of teams in the league have two "top-calibre" lines, most have have one, and then the rest have none. That's just judging by talent and not by how well lines work together.

At least it's not the 90s where 4 teams has 3 top calibre lines and 15+ had none.

So, my friend whom is a season ticket NJD holder says D'Agostini is useless. He skates around and never seems to have the puck and is bad defensively. He also mentioned he never saw his "speed" because he never used it effectively being that he barely touches the puck.
