So we'd get someone good then. And that player probably makes... 3-4mil lets say?

How do you propose we do that when we have pretty much no cap space as is?

- markmark

Gardiner and Colbourne make up $1.7. With a real dman you can seriously look at Getting Liles out of there.

Guy has yet to play one game for the Leafs and you already see him as the next captain?

NO PRESSURE!

trading Gardiner, one of the Leafs best puck moving defensive prospects + Colborne and a pick for defensive help?

Seems...logical.

A year ago this time I would have said yes.

I didn't like what I saw out of the big 4 or 5 or whatever it is from Edmonton last season. I worry about their durability and their compete level.

That is not to suggest that the Leafs are way better or anything. I just think that the promise of all those young stars has faded in the minds of many.

What will be interesting to see is what Eakins will do with that team. I am going to bet he causes a pretty significant turn around and I think the Oilers easily make the playoffs.

its because you entice them

and you just blanket responded to anyone who thinks phaneuf should be traded and not gardiner belongs in a mental institution

that poop is not going to fly with me

as for the others.. when i tell them to stop.. they actually do.. unlike you

- Dozzer

Really? There are a few posters, and unlike them I don't run to you because it's a friggen blog with opinions, that constantly jump instantly on any thing I mention about a Bozak let's say. So What's the difference in me defending my position on a player either way? Wanna know what it is? Popular opinion and hell no don't rock the boat.

Didn't think so. You hire based on needs. Leafs have offense from the back end with more coming. Pretty short on defense though.

Act as a mentor for the young guys?

Why didn't they just forfeit last year's? 29th overall. You aren't going to get a much better scenario than that if you have to lose a pick.

A lot of people asked that same question.

I have a Netflix question for you geeks:

My tv is connected (hardwired) to my router. The TV has an app that runs Netflix.

So when I run Netflix, it runs straight from the modem - doesn't go through a browser.

Could I open a US account and run it on the TV? Or would it tell me to go eff myself?

- Atomic Wedgie

Would tell you to go F yourself.

The IP of your router shows were you are.

There are ways around this if you run through your computer, but I am not sure if you run direct from your TV and not through a browser.

If Dion gets traded, Clarkson for captain? or Lupul?
- JIMI-JAMES

It would be Lupul without question.
Clarkson hasn't done anything to deserve a letter.

You're growing on me. Still think you're way off on Gardiner, but if we all liked the same players, this place would get boring.

It would be a constant "OMG Dion Phaneuf is da best!" fest.

His leadership abilities are so incredible, just saying his name motivates people to work harder, skate faster and be a hero... just for one night.... just for one game....... to win.

I have a hard time following the media masses regarding players. Hell there were some members pushing for Stajan as captain at one point. Cox thought it was a great idea.

Definitely. Right now it's:

Phaneuf - C

Lupul - A
McClement - A

Would probably be Bolland given an A if one of them is hurt or out of the lineup.

Could see Clarkson getting an A down the road
