What's that? Practicing two-handing Kenny Jonsson face first into the glass?
- dcb1

Yeah, that STILL should have been a MAJOR.

Yep, agreed all around. Maybe Lee is a wildcard if he shows dramatic improvement in his skating come September, but if anything, he'd probably be a call-up later in the year rather than making the team out of camp. It'll be cool to keep an eye on BPort too...Strome/Nelson, Lee, Kabanov, Sundstrom, Mayfield, Pedan, deHaan/Donovan...quite a few possible future Islanders in that group.

I wouldn't mind Hainsey...he's nothing fancy but he would be a good vet to have in the locker room for a year or two...

i'm just not as high on grabner and moulson as others are... I like them but they are extremely flawed players...with that being said if grabner plays the way he did after game 1 against pittburgh he will be fine...moulson..make or break year for him and I have serious doubt about signing him to a long term extension.

Remember when he couldn't finish a breakaway to save his life and the same guys that wanted him gone are now acting like he is Pavel Bure

if he had hands..he would be..but he doesn't have them so he reminds me of a cross between Robert Kron and Sami Kapanen...but he was amazing after game 1 of the pitt series...if he can fore check and take the body you can over look he has feet as hands. I think he is a perfect third line forward

If he had hands he probably would have never hit the waiver wire. This year is huge for him. Lets see if he can play the way he did in the playoffs for most of this upcoming year

His hands are just fine when taking bad passes in full stride, picking off opponents' passes, and when taking wrist shots from the slot. He can't finish breakaways; we all know that.

I would say all of them till the season starts. I mean we really did not make a splash in free agency. It is basically the same team to me just a little tougher. If Nabby does not play well though it could be a long season.I felt we needed to upgrade in the department and we stayed staus quo
- kasperrko

I disagree...it won't be the same team. the team is jelling and JT is getting better with each year....I predict superstar stature next year. If okposo and Bailey continue the development from last year. We have young prospects ready to step in such as Strome and Donavan. Do not underestimate the value of clutterbuck on your team. Bouchard not sure yet. The talent is there but, soft and always hurt.

Boyes hasn't signed has he? Only other guy to get the opportunity as a ufa after playing with JT was PA and the Avs had the same position and situation for him to step into. You're not disproving my point with Boyes, you're nitpicking at something for lack of anything better to discuss.
- Isles_since_6

It wasn't my intention to dispute your point with Boyes. But blanket statements made as fact are the standard here, and that was what I was aiming at. Call it a nitpick if you want. And I still hold that the situation that PA signed into has nothing to do with it. The fact that he got a big payday on the basis of his 'inflated' stats thanks to John Tavares refutes your statement. And you are right, there isn't very much to discuss nowadays.

If you don't sign him, someone else will need to pick up the slack and net 30 goals...those guys are hard to come by...don't say Strome or Nelson because they are young and need to grow.

He's got the sh!ts today. Not hockey related, but the guy rules for letting 75,000 people on twitter know that he's got the sh!ts.

He still can't finish a breakaway to save his life but is a thirty goal scorer and one of the best PK'ers we have had in I don't know how long. He also puts up those goals without JT and with half the ice time of Moulson. Always been a fan.

He did bring it up a notch in the PO's but I really thought he was consistently one of the better players for the last couple years all around wise.

I like the guy don't get me wrong. I'm just not 100% sold on the guy just yet. He puts another solid season together then I'm on board for the long haul.

The year before this last season I thought he took a step back after his breakout season the year before. He was very solid last year. I want to see him get even better

Apparently Kabanov is doing the Gary Roberts camp this offseason? That can't be anything but good for his development

He seems to be heading in the right direction.

If nothing else, he seems to have his head on straight and taking everything seriously, which was one of the biggest concerns when he was drafted.
