Nope one shortened season proves nothing to me - kasperrko
That's kind of silly. They showed some game last season whether it was 48 games or 82. I get your point but saying it proved nothing is a little short sighted IMO |

Yeah I know but since "he" brought us to the promise land he will probably be the next person to get a 15 year contract |

Maybe but I have seen this team play well for a period of time just to fall off the face of the earth. They did not get that chance this year |

Funny thing is they finished 2 points out of the 5th seed as well. They'll be right in the mix once again |

the guy moved from one situation into almost an identical one. He certainly didn't get them to the playoffs or improved the team. You could argue the avs were worse with him, even though he contributed offensively. - Isles_since_6
Yeah but that wasn't your point, which was that teams are shying away from guys who played with Tavares because he's the reason they have good stats. |

Different mix of games, too, as Carolina, Washington and Columbus are added as "division rivals." I think that's a good thing...no disrespect to those three teams as I think all of them have the potential to finish ahead of the Isles, but I'd rather have them in the division mix than just constantly running the gauntlet against the Atlantic teams. |

Apparently Kabanov is doing the Gary Roberts camp this offseason? That can't be anything but good for his development |

these are all very vague terms...like i said, if the isles got the equivalent of a scuderi/ference for moulson, yes i think its doable
having said that, if moulson is dealt for a dman, id prefer add a 2nd tier prospect to the package and get someone a little younger from a cap-strapped team - LetsGoIsles
I'll tell you what I think we can get for Moulson....someone about as good as Ian White or Ron Hainsey....who we can get for free..... |

He stood out to me last night. He didn't finish but outside of Strome he stood out the most. |

This is still a very young team and quite frankly can't wait to see how the young forwards start to fit in along with Clutterbuck. As far as Franz and MM I have no desire to trade and not many teams will see them as impact players but more as role players. |

More like you hope it will be... You hope Richards will learn how to play again, Stepan won't have a slump, and Nash will play. You traded arguably your best offensive player in Gaborik. I certainly don't think we'll be worse than the Rangers and we'll do it with subpar goaltending. - Cptmjl
no need to get so defensive jeez. And nash is a hell of an upgrade to gabby. |

Yeah, I know it's not popular to hear that some of our players aren't what some like to think they are, apparently based on six good weeks of hockey in the last seven years, but it doesn't bother me...I still say, the only way we get anything significant for the likes of Moulson and Nielsen is if we throw them in with upper level prospects. Otherwise, we aren't getting sh*t, and I'd rather keep them. |

Boyes hasn't signed has he? Only other guy to get the opportunity as a ufa after playing with JT was PA and the Avs had the same position and situation for him to step into. You're not disproving my point with Boyes, you're nitpicking at something for lack of anything better to discuss.

Good to hear...biggest disappointment with springing for AHL Live last season...well...other than the camera angles...was that I didn't get to see much of Kabanov since he got hurt. I've been pulling for him to put it all together since seeing him in some preseason games a couple of years ago...I thought he looked better in those very limited appearances that year than some of the more highly touted prospects. |

I wouldn't mind Hainsey...he's nothing fancy but he would be a good vet to have in the locker room for a year or two... |

Nobody outside of Strome & Nelson have a shot to make the team this year. Pedan & Mayfield just need put on some weight and get stronger. Reinhart just needs some time. These kids have the potential to be something special down the road |

They are worth more to this team than what they are worth, agreed. I'd lump Grabner into that pool as well. I feel he's worth far more than we'd ever get for him. |

DeHaan seems to have a case all of a sudden. Been reading some stuff about him having a shot, a legit one. Someone posted something yesterday. |

Yep, agreed all around. Maybe Lee is a wildcard if he shows dramatic improvement in his skating come September, but if anything, he'd probably be a call-up later in the year rather than making the team out of camp. It'll be cool to keep an eye on BPort too...Strome/Nelson, Lee, Kabanov, Sundstrom, Mayfield, Pedan, deHaan/Donovan...quite a few possible future Islanders in that group. |
