why should it be retired???
- kasperrko

I can admit, perhaps it could just be my bromance but still gotta bring up

His 287 goals, 566 points in 530 games and where that ranks in the teams records. Also the player he was on & off the ice and just what he's done for the sport of hockey

Isbister must be pissed too!
Why don't they give out 39? Or is Wang planning on retiring it to the rafters.....???

- jmo16

I know its early but I'm failing to see what Isbister a guy who wore #15 has to do with the amazing HOF player who wore #16 for this team

Yeah, my bad...I was thinking about the other guy who wore 16....the one who had the village idiot for an agent....LaFontaine goes without saying....but Turgeon should also be in the HHOF....and have his number retired...

Painfully obvious there is an issue between LaFontaine and Wang. I agree with KC...number 16 should have been retired years ago. Besides the fact hes probably one of the best players to ever wear our sweater, his off the ice contributions are huge in this community.

I think that's more on him, though- he's supposedly the one who is pi$$ed at Wang, and probably wouldn't show up for the ceremony (can't say I blame him). That said, the simple act of no longer allowing anyone to wear that sweater would probably go a long way toward fixing that deal.

They could really pi$$ him off and retire that number for Ziggy

Wang pissed a lot of people off with that "decision by committee" bullpoop. Its pretty clear, to me at least, that Wang wasn't exactly forthcoming about clarity in regards to what people's roles were gonna be.

No offense to JB, but I think they should retire 12, too....maybe send up a life size Milbury effigy, hanging by its neck from a Kvasha jersey.

[quote=NYI78]i'm just not as high on grabner and moulson as others are... I like them but they are extremely flawed players...with that being said if grabner plays the way he did after game 1 against pittburgh he will be fine...moulson..make or break year for him and I have serious doubt about signing him to a long term

The guy had scored 30plus goals every year except this year and he was right around that pace for a full season! I don't see any major flaw in his game. He plays hard, he goes to the dirty areas it takes to bang in goals. Don't give me the if he didn't play with JT he would be an AHLer cuz guess what he does play with him and if he can bang in, deflect 30 goals a year I'm more then fine locking him up on a 5 year deal. I'd love to hear why not....go

- oopsb13

no offense but we must not be watching the same matt mouslon...he is a good north south player who is good in the slot...THATS IT... he is not the best skater...a horrible fore checker..an occasional back checker..terrible in his own end and refuses to take the body. look I like matt, but he is a very flawed player. this is a huge year for him

He scored the game winner in OT vs the caps in one of those OT games during that exciting series. That series was very entertaining

Yup. The infamous Dale Hunter series. Ray Ferraro went off that series.
I was 16, that was a crazy time in life. Drinking, smoking, girls, and Islanders playoff hockey....didn't get much better than that.

You're buddy Boyes will be in town next weekend. He's buddies with my neighbour, he is suppose to be bringing some Isles gear for my kid.

My neighbour said he's thinking about playing overseas next year.

He said he went to the Isles because Weight promised him a 2 yr contract if everything went well last season...

Guess not!!!

Hopefully he doesn't burn my kids things before he gets here!!!
