It took the Hawks 3 years after they drafted Toews to make an appearance into the playoffs. Oilers have gotten better each year since they drafted Hall. I'll go on record and say the Oilers will make the playoffs this year.

i think at this point it is too early to really tell.. i haven't seen hardly any of them play.. all i have on these guys is reading descriptions.

Trade Ennis and McNabb to WSH for their 1st. (maybe if they do become desperate for that 2C)

Trade Miller to Col for McGinn, Sgarbossa, and a 3rd that becomes a 1st if he resigns there.

Extend Vanek for 5 years at 7.5M per.

But at least the new core will have had a chance in the playoffs and conference finals, like the last core....can't get into the playoffs with our future core getting all their minutes in Rocha-cha for 3-4 years. Someone pointed out that's how our last core developed, so maybe the opposite approach will be better; Suck for 1 year with the kids on board and they'll be better pros the next.

It takes so much talent and diversity for a team in the NHL to be really good. To be a well oiled machine guys must play their roles well from top to bottom. If we become good with this group, it will take a lot more than just sitting and waiting for them to get good.

They still lost their 1st rounder. The cap penalty was just a small add-on.

Maybe so. However, if the 'good' kids don't suck like you want them too, then you will never pick the it factor kid. And if they do suck, I don't want them on my future team.

Someone important said you we will have to suffer. Suffering isn't playing the kids exclusively, suffering is watching your team suck because they are not built to win.

We have 2 stars, a fractured defense, almost no scoring depth, they brought back Hallinder to help a 'franchise' guy who can't skate or defend. This team, as presently constructed, sucks. Now suffer.
