Kovy or not Lou would laugh and hang up the phone on that proposal. They're not giving you essentially their top 2 young NHL players for a guy who will be a free agent. They'd be better off committing to a rebuild.

New Jersey is a different division though, which means the Sabres will play them once more per season than each of the western conference teams. They wouldn't play against them in the playoffs except in the Eastern conference finals. Divisions are now much more important than conferences.

Stamkos 7.5, Parise 7.5, they are better players than Vanek, no way he can command more than him. Semin is at 7 which is the comparrison and he probably will reup at that price bc of it
