Garth is a lunatic with overvaluing sabres. Vanek would command a pretty hefty return. The Devils don't have a top prospect, so it would have to be something like: Merril, Boucher, Matteu + 2nd rd pick. I'm not even sure that Darcy would take that, since the Sabres don't have anyone in the pipeline to replace Vanek and they are trying to resign him. Good grief, I feel bad for you guys.

New Jersey is a different division though, which means the Sabres will play them once more per season than each of the western conference teams. They wouldn't play against them in the playoffs except in the Eastern conference finals. Divisions are now much more important than conferences.

I don't see them doing Henrique. Matteau and/or Boucher might be more in range.
