for those of you old enough to remember, tell me this team doesn't look like the 1995 devils. a bunch of no name kids, with a few grizzled vets that other teams thought were done. crash line in place, old and young goaltender splitting time. not saying they are a Stanley cup contender, but I do see a silver lining in the dark cloud that is ilya kovalchuk.

The offense reminds me of the same but the defense is where the big difference (Stevens, Neids, Dano) is and plus we had a young Marty...Cory might be good but not the level Marty was back then also

I'm not trying to say it's all russians. Bobrovsky stayed when Lokomotiv was offering more money. Datsyuk just signed an extension. But the Olympics has to nothing to do with this. NHL execs stated that a deal with IIHF is almost complete and the Olympics will be a go for NHL guys.
