Not bad.. right? Brunner has potential.. right? He had some streaks.. albeit with Datsyuk... right? Surely he could streak with Lokti and Ryder..?

I don't think Lou planned this but something isn't right here (I am not suggesting Lou foul play) . I don't think it's just a KHL thing. I feel like there is more to this story.
- mrhattrick27

Don't know why you think there's more to it. I feel it's gonna be as simple as him wanting to make a 100 million in 5 years then waiting the 15 years and doing it here in North America.

And Lou was shrewd enough to know about the Cap recapture penalties two years in advance, know Kovy was going to leave at the perfect time, and had the foresight to give up the 1st round pick that year. It all makes so much sense.

Then why would he create a contract that would have such a large recapture? Why would he hope that Kovy just happens to pick the perfect year to leave, only 2 years in the contract? Why would he wait until giving up our best player to forfeit the 1st round pick? The thought that Lou wanted Kovy to leave is basically as valid as the moon landing conspiracy theory.

The moon landing conspiracy has some weight to it.. just sayin..

Elias got cement-skates-Sykora to be serviceable. Could he do the same with Jagr?? Jagr's postseason performance was demoralizing to watch. .. scary slow.

Clowe-Henrique-Ryder
Elias-Zajac-Jagr
Tedenby-Josefson-Olesz/Zubrus

?

we have nothing. beyond doomed.

I don't even recognize this team anymore. The only familiar faces up front are Elias and Zajac.

- MartysBetter88

Could make Henrique, the 3rd line C.

Zajac
Grabovski
Henrique
Loktionov(unless he retires, you know, tomorrow afternoon)

I still think Brunner would be a better fit than Grabovski. Grabovski needs to play with "pass-first"wingers.. Not sure if Ryder or Clowe fit that description

We have zero first liners as it is. Except maybe elias, but he does much better in a support role.

Just blow it up! I don't get why teams are hesitant to do it. I am not being a Richard. I am a Jets fan trust me, I get it The best move it blow it up man. Just like why I don't get why the flames refuse to do the same thing. Build around Henrique and Larson stock pile picks, and come back in 4-5 years.

Also, I'd maybe follow the stars model of last year. Get Jagr, get Morrow, get another guy on 1 year deals. See what happens, and trade 'em to contenders when your presumably out of it for first rounders and prospects and load up the farm.

I can't explain it. It is a gut feeling but I think there is more to the story that will leak out. Like Lou knowing months ago or some poop idk. I just have a feeling.

Nashville might not have much for forwards, but that defense... holy crap... theyll do enough scoring and prevent most of it to get them into the playoffs.

Please, tell me why then would Lou start his contract with two years at 6 million dollar salary? Why not just start it at 11 million?
- aecliptic

Because of the rules that player contracts had to adhere under the old CBA. He was under contract to make 11m this past season. If Lou wanted to get out of it, he would have just let him stay in Russia after the lock out

He figured if it could bring a cup in those 2 years, it would be worth it to lose the pick...

that's because it's not good. But it's our only option.. unless you'd rather see Morrow or Jagr.
