He's still a little soft but I think he played great against then pens. Then there were the games in Hartford I saw him playing and he looked great.

Possession is fine and dandy but when you make horrible decisions and don't do much scoring it's basically useless. We had great possession numbers last year as a team as i recall.Didn't translate to goals or wins.

I'm sure they'll give him a look in training camp. They've never been an organization to set things in stone.

Nobody seems to realize there's no reason they cant send Volchenkov through waivers and down to Albany.

Well there's the issue of the owner not wanting to pay a guy millions to play in the AHL. But other then that i guess it could happen. Doubtful if you ask me.

How are we in trouble ? Fans of Canadian base teams are so damn blind. We had some of the best puck possession numbers in the league and likely would have made the playoffs had Marty and Kovy not gotten injured. I believe our record was like 10-2-1 when they where both in the lineup. So lets look at what has changed since last season #1 if Marty goes down or isn't performing we have Cory Schneider to come in and win games for us instead or 40 year old career back up Hedberg. #2 we added more scoring depth in Ryder and Clowe and perhaps even Olezs surprises so we have fixed the 2 problems that where the death of us last year. So I am really curious as to why or how we are in trouble ?

Ryder is overpaid at 3.5? OKAY...Talk about overpaying for players let see Briere at 4mill... i doubt he plays 50 games since he will get hurt. Gionta makes lets see 5 mill? Yeah thats not overpayment at all. Or how about that Headcase in net at 6.5? Real good contract there. But i get why Bergevin has to overpay no one wants to play there.

We need someone on the PP. We added some good players to give us a new look on it and I think he could produce. A bit of a liability but he is probably going to only play on the 3rd pairing with a stay at home guy like Volchenkov or Salvador. It is one year deal so I'm fine with it. Gotto think that one of Anton or Bryce could be on their way out.

What prospects do you have? Reid boucher isnt a good prospect i forgot.. Schneider is Just as proven as your goalie is and at a cheaper cap hit.

Zidlicky is the worst excuse for an NHL defensemen. I wouldnt pay him $3 for the entire season. It is brutal watching this guy try to play hockey and even worse trying to watch him play defense. He is a liability when he is on the ice an the Devils would be better off playing short handed than with him....and this is coming from a Devils fan....Worst move Lou made all summer, even worse than re-signing Tedenby.

...Why wouldn't you resign Tedenby? Even if you don't want to play him, he's still a tradable asset that you would've lost for nothing. Who knows too, he might pan out. And if he doesn't he's making $600k, that a risk we can actually afford to be wrong on.
