If he retires from the NHL and goes to play in the KHL, he shouldn't be allowed back in the NHL at any point of his career and NJ shouldn't have to pay the rest of his contract. You shouldn't be allowed to double dip like that. They should get the pick back. - Oneonta Penguin
eh I don't know how I feel about the pick. they still broke the rules regardless of whether or not he fulfilled his contract.
it just truly makes you wonder why they didn't just lose their pick last year when they had #29... I am still confused by that.
but I agree about the NHL. his time should be done in the NHL. no team should speak to him. NHL has a shot hear to make a statement to these young Russians. if you want to go to the KHL...fine. but you aren't coming back once you leave. that will surely make guys think twice.
and did anyone see the stuff malkin went through when he was in Russia? rossi had an article about it... chilling stuff. |

Russians are a moody bunch. If they don't get what they want, they bolt. I know we have Malkin and he has been a good soldier, but with Radulov, Filatov and now Kovalchuk, I wonder if GMs are going to be leery of the Russians moving forward.
To me, there is a distinct difference between say someone like Jagr, who fulfilled his contract and bolted to the KHL than Kovalchuk. It's the ones that bolt from contracts to play that I have a major problem with. They shouldn't be allowed back regardless, if this is the situation. |

And the thing with kovalchuk is that he doesn't suck. Radulov was just terrible on the ice and looked like he played with little effort. You could definitely see that radulov didn't like the NHL style and wasn't coming back before he announced going to the khl.
You're spot on about the weariness of drafting Russians now, even more than before. I believe tarasenko was rated in the top 5 during his draft, but dropped down to around 15 because they weren't sure about if he was going to stay in Russia |

50 goals and 90 points. After this shortened season, that's realistic
I'm telling you, if Sid never got injured, Kunitz wins the rocket richard |

Man, the Devils better hope that Schneider drags them out of the lottery conversation. Whoever decided not to forgo the 29th overall pick might be feeling the guillotine blade soon. |

You take a look at that roster, it screams lottery. No kovalchuk; no Clarkson; Zajac is an enigma - Elias is a year older. I don't see it. They somehow will manage getting through.

If Duper cracked 40 goals, would you take back everything you have said about him? |

I want NH to answer it.
If Pascal Dupuis suddenly scored 40 goals next to Crosby, I want to know if he would take back all the glorified 3rd liner comments. |

seeing how he is the BEST option for sids right wing, and will be playing on the BEST line in hockey...
50 goals AND ill buy his jersey and post a pic of it........
but it will never happen bc he wont put up anything close to what you guys think, he is there as a filler for the next 3 yrs and bc of that cap hit they need to trade for a prospect winger to replace him down the line bc they keep drafting (frank)ing Dmen and centers......
Shero needs to get on his horse and trade nisk to help the offense depth at wing... these guys he brought in at wb/s to replace kolarik and the others are pathetic.. |

D'Agostini; Matt F'n D'Agostini, this teams roster is a joke. We should have just blew it up and rebuild. What a total joke this team is going to be this year, will we make the playoffs? Yeah; but we will get absolutely destroyed in the 1st round. This team has no backbone, no guts, thanks Shero (gm of the year). What a freaking joke, does no one else really see this? This team has no heart. |
