Your next article should be about NHL 94, Blades of Steel and all the good games you've played along those years (with the links to play on line)

I only have my keyboard. I'm only being able to use the arrows up, down....what else do I use? I was going to play Pitts vs Philly with line changes but can't get in haha

Figured out so far:

B=Start
X=Flip the puck out
C=Pass/Select Guy
V=Shoot/Check/Turbo

Damn it! I thought X was to shoot. Everytime I was close to the goal I'd flip the puck over it and didn't know why. I was mad cause I was already down 4-0 to the Flyers

Btw, Recchi 81, Jagr 79, Lindros 85?

If you own a Wii, you can flash the Wii (pretty easy to do, just need an SD card) and put a Sega emulator on it. Pretty much the only reason to own a Wii.

That's pretty awesome...I remember playing NHL 94 on Megadrive when I was 12-13. Since I didn't own one I had to go to a game store with my brother and pay to play for an hour or so. Only in 96-97 the hockey grew on me. The EA Sports games are so much better now.. I wish I could learn how to play Madden a little better. The rugby one is pretty good.

2v2 Open Ice Challenge was one of the more entertaining hockey games I played as a kid. For those who are not familiar, it is the NHL version of NBA jam where you could light the nets on fire.
Penguins Roster:
Mario Lemieux
Jaromir Jagr
Petr Nedved

Bull poop isn't it???

If he's doing this is to get out of his contract with NJ. No way he's retiring!

He probably has offers from KHL!

I'm amazed.

Brodeur needs to go with him

Matt D signing why not it's a 2 way right? Pens have a bunch of fringe guys in WBS now. I don't see this team winning the cup though unless Fleury gets back to being good.

Kovalchuk retiring...now the devils are really going to be bad this year. The devils should of traded him at the deadline last year haha

They are going to be horrible... and they don't have a first rounder next season when it will likely be a top 5 pick.

Why don't they have a 1st next year?

They had to forfeit a first round pick because of the Kovalchuk deal cap circumvention. They chose not to forfeit 2012 or 2013, so they lose 2014.

So the organization (which is broke) loses it's franchise player, lost Parise because they didn't have the money after signing Kovy, won't have a high first round pick next season, and will suck so their ticket sales will be even worse than they would have if he was there.

Ouch...

For initially signing Kovalchuk to a 100 year deal (it was actually originally until he was to be 45)

Variably might help. He played last year for $11 million (prorated) but that was the first year of his big money. He's leaving $67 million over the next 6 seasons on the table.

Interesting decision on the NHL's part here... They penalized the Devils for a cap circumvention contract that has ended before it circumvented the cap.

Is there any chance the Devils get that pick back?

He'll get that back and more in the KHL though.

I did not see this coming. The Devils are going to be AWFUL this year. At least they got Cory Schneider?

At $550K...how can you go wrong?

You get a guy who pretty much knows this is a 'last chance' kind of thing...and you pay practically nothing for him (by NHL standards of course).

Yeah, in the long run it's better he left now, but it puts them in a bad spot for the next couple of years.
