Before FA period started my 1 request was speed. Though Dag isn't the physical type player I was hoping he certainly has speed which is what this team needs. Watching video of this kid I'm not as upset as I was yesterday. Using your speed to get in on the forecheck is as productive as banging bodies. Whatever works just go get the puck.

But also not being afraid to take a hit while forechecking. You are going to get banged up when you are forechecking hard, and hopefully he fights through it and doesn't try to go around

One of the reasons I would like to see Bortuzzo get a good long look is because I believe the Scuds signing all but ends Orpik's career as a Penguin. I don't see how they can keep Orpik beyond this year. The only guy they have that can emulate that style of play is Bortuzzo.

I know they're in a "win now" mode, but sooner or later they need to see if the kids can play.

Low-risk signing w/ a small chance of high reward. More likely than not, D'Agostini is going to be a average to below average 3rd-liner. But the Pens are in a Cap crunch for the 3rd-line, his contract is cheap, & there are some things to like about him.

His Shooting percentage last year was 9.1% w/ a 10.1% life-time average. In 10-11 & 11-10 w/ the Blues he put 163 (12.9%) & 110 (8.9%) shots on net. Much less than Kennedy's number of shots, but a much better than his shooting percentage of 7.8%.

Overall, I think the Pens could have done worse given the very limited Cap room they are working with, but nothing to celebrate too much about.

Wasn't it just written that team speed has been a problem. Asham doesn't help that, at all.

yeah, the only way I'd want Asham back was if he could make Glass expendable. He's a better player.

He's not though. They are a carbon copy of 1000 other fighter/grinder players out there.

Ben Eager is available too, but he can at least skate a little bit.

Matt will have a great year in Pittsburg. Here is a guy that scored 21 goals and 46 points a couple years ago but got buried on a team with a surplus of quality forwards. Also the concussion set him back. If he is healthy he is a real deal at this rock bottom salary. I really like him.

I kind of stopped liking the guy after his "night night" gesture when he knocked out that one guy in a fight, and also when he cross checked the flyers player during the playoffs for no reason.

He apologized for doing the 1st. And he cross checked Brayden Schenn in the chest and it got pushed up to his face on the follow through after Schenn concussed Martin with one of his patented charging hits.

He's an honest guy. Just not that good of a hockey player anymore.

Every report I've read lists him as, at least, a good to very-good skater. However, I've seen some negative posts from Montreal fans. Is there a chance that he's improved on certain aspects of his game since being with the Habs organization?

No he was worthless for us last season. Fast skater, and decent hands but that's about it. Doubtful he makes the pens roster i would think your kids are better then this guy.

Sour grapes NickA, same with negative Hab posters.

Dogs will succeed if he used properly. He can be a real finisher on the pp if given a chance.

I loved Asham when he was here. Only issue I had a problem with was the injuries.

He will get 2nd pp minutes. Can't see him cracking the top pp.

He may have improved, but even in St-Louis his defensive play was terrible.

He has some offensive tools, and sure he did score 20 goals before so who knows.

I just think the odds of him doing it again are slim to none.

Not a huge risk to take at 550k, i'd rather see the Pens give the ice time to one of their young players.

Gunner, you might wanna check out the special article about NHL '94 anniversary on NHL's main page. It's awesome

Btw, can we find that game for Computer? I'd love to download it.

One game in... Beat Hartford 3-2. Lemieux had a hat trick and Larry Murphy destroyed Pat Verbeek and knocked him out for a period.

Zarley Zalapski had an assist for Hartford.

Yeah....

Play without line changes though... I tried a second game with them on, and I can't figure out how to change lines on the fly. My players got dog tired lol.
