Darcy's only plan revolves around self preservation.

He's remarkably parlayed 4 playoff appearances in 11 years, and no series wins in 6 seasons, into another 3 - 5 seasons as GM under the guise of a pseudo rebuild.

I think he does it right this time....

Guys like Girgs, Larsson, Hackett, Zadorov, McCabe, Pysyk, Armia, Grigorenko and Ristolainan all look like the could be stars.

Add Hodgson, Foligno, Myers and Ennis if people can reach close to their potential....

I think the future rests on Armia and Grigs shoulders....

So with the Finland or Buffalo thing with Rasmus I have to ask...would you take Nichushkin? even though his saying would be buffalo or khl.

As much as I wanted Nichushkin, Rasmus could be a top 2 pairing in Buffalo for a long time.

We needed that especially if Myers keeps playing terrible. (Yes i own a myers jersey )

Also I listened to WGR too. Didnt hear the info like the other guy did. Its his hometown team. He will be here soon enough. And didnt win the hockey hall of fame tickets from WGR. was put on hold and the call was dropped. damn...

I tried making the point earlier that what Risto is saying is exactly why a lot of people didn't mind we passed on Nichushkin.

I will come back and laugh when none of these guys can even score at NHL level. Future captain you claim lol

Glad you're a Sabres' fan.

It shows.

There's medication your doctor could probably prescribe you, ya know.

There is a pretty big difference in the pay between the KHL and SM-Liga. Chush would have been turning down $5mill to play in Rochester. Risto would be turning down $200k at most. With Chush, there is a chance that because of the money, he'd never come over. Little risk of that with Risto.

He'll find a way to screw it up.

In 2005/2006 he got it mostly right. But then he stood pat at the deadline instead of adding valuable depth pieces that could have finally closed the deal for the Sabres. Meanwhile, Carolina pulled the trigger on Recchi and Weight and both contributed to their championship.

The man is a loser. He's never won anything and won't win anything.

Nichushkin said he wanted to play in the NHL. These Russians get a bad rep because every once in a while there is a dummy like Radulov.

"Gretzky is not even good cause long time ago he just slap shots up close and score. But when that goal tender made the butterfly he stop scoring as much as he use to and that is one of the reasons why he retired. So fugg em sid the kid is better"

Which is too bad and another reason Darcy should not be championing this rebuild. The Squirrel man is pretty negative but he is also right on about needed can’t miss draft picks.

grigs, pysyk, tropp, flynn, CoHo. Those are the lock ins. And then you have Girgs, Armia, Larsson, Mcnabb, Risto, Cattenaci.

We will be seeing are young talent play...

If we suck.. I could see a lot being sent up for a few games. And with injuries.. I'm sure we will at least see Grigo, Larsson, and Armia at some point during the season..

i think if we tank we will get nylander. the year after that we will get mcdavid.

by then we will have same problem as colorado with hodgson, grigorenko and zemgus. take mcdavid and trade cody. nylander wont be top pick but hell be the drouin of his class. not close to drouin but that type of wing. a little less vision and scoring.

so HIGLY UNLIKELY but if that goes likes i hope it will lines could be this:

nylander-mcdavid-armia
foligno-grigorenko-ennis or vet (OTT?)
larsson-girgensons-tropp
catenacci-schaller-flynn

ehroff-ristolanian
myers-mcnabb
weber-pysyk

enroth
hackett

most of the kids should be decent by then. you have to think of FA and who we get in trades but again just a random, hopeful projection

Problem is we won't be that bad.. We weren't that bad when Vanek was injured and Enroth was in net... I guess the only good news is that are division got a lot harder to play in. But I still don't see us as a bottom 5 team.
