trust me i have hope. i think girgensons might be the best player we've had in a long time, and im really pumped for armia.

just relying on your prospects to be "sick in 3 years" would be silly

He'll be the most popular, but best? I don't think so. His work ethic is going to be one that people around here love, but I still question how much he'll ever be able to change enough games by himself.

if the way he played in the playoffs is what he turns into then he will be dominant

Depends on the day....

Supposedly vanek was offered 8 years at 8m and he turned it down because he doesn't want to be on a rebuilding.

Miller cleaned his full locker out and sold his house in buffalo too...

One day it is that vanek might be easier to resign and the nxt is that miller would be easier to resign...

I bet miller gets traded before the season akd vanek is traded at the deadline as the number one sought after guy

- JVince11

Vanek at the deadline could bring in some great assets. I don't think Miller right now is going to have the same value, who would want him for just one year? BTW, not trolling BUF is my second favorite team in the east.

His "dominance" in the playoffs led to them losing its first round series in 3 games. Look, don't get me wrong, I like what he brings, but it's still no substitute for legitimate top 6 talent that this team lacks and needs desperately.

weve been saying that since 06 tho.. "NVOTNY PAILLE PAETSCH BUFF GONNA BE SO GOOD"

"MYERS ENNIS STAFFORD GERBE MCNABB BUFF GONNA BE SO GOOD"

"ZADOROV RISTOLAINEN GRIGORENKO GIRGENSONS ARMIA GONNA BE SO GOOD"

granted i think we have higher prestige prospects now, but the gm just cant seem to pull it all together when everyone hits their prime

- robz228

depressing post if ive ever seen one

worked for ottawa, chicago, st louis so far, penguins, etc. we've got a long way to go.

i'm excited about girgs!

to me, armia could be the replacement for vanek, so i'm intrigued if he's even remotely there or what and him not being at dev camp delays that. the other obviously would be whether or not he plays with the sabres this fall.

Everyone seems to be stuck on the 1 year left on Miller's contract. Any team that wants him obviously believes he is a key member. If Miller goes to a winning team and finds success, he most likely will be very open to resign. I know, his wife lives on the west coast blah blah blah, but honestly, how many west coast teams need his services. if St. Louis for example wants him and the team makes a deep run or by chance wins it all, resigning him should be fairly easy. IMO.

Was anybody disappointing? Also, I love Zadorav's work-ethic, he will do anything to make it in the NHL.
- benny948

I didn't read anything of disappointing regard...

I read that baptiste used his sick speed to beat risto...

Makarov made solid saves too I heard

Vanek for Neal and Kuhnhackl

We retain salary on vanek to have them save money on neal..

Trade stafford to clb for cam atkinson and a 4th

Trade ennis, pysyk, 2nd rdr and a 3rd rdr for dustin brown

The 3rd becomes another second if brown resigns

Neal - hodge - brown
Ott - grigorenko - leino
Foligno - girgensons - flynn
Tropp - porter - kaleta
Scott

Atkinson amd armia in rochester with larsson.

- JVince11

Please explain why CBJ would trade a kid who oozes heart and soul/ has 30 goal potential for a wimp like Stafford. Especially since Atkinson make about 3 million less than Stafford

i'm only comparing them as players in their positions who stayed with their team a long time and were able to contribute as talent....vanek on his game is as good as alfy..and miller is not the same goalie as brodeur...unfair comparison

From the prior blog, since when has Vanek been a bad guy, meaning locker room sourpuss?

I never heard that before. I thought it was Roy that was the issue.

Please explain why an injured til december horton gets 53M or how gaborik is a good option.. or how foligno is a 3+m forward...or how umberger is still getting 4.6m... or how wisniewski makes 5.5m per year long term

Idk man... things just happen

if you cant sign him before the start of teh season id trade him for a 2nd round pick straight up

going to be impossible to move that contract at the deadline and i doubt he resigns if he doesnt already

Except Alfie was their captain and showed up every single night. Vanek shows up maybe half of the time. Not someone that you build around IMO

I agree trade him now, but why would that contract be impossible to move? You can take a bad contract back or retain salary

To be completely honest, I have no interest in those players due to their contracts. Miller I just don't like, sorry. But someone else will surely give up assets for them.
