Well Kadri is probably pointing out the fact that he massively outscored the 4+ million dollar player Bozak. And Franson is probably pointing out the fact that he scored on a better pace (slightly) than the 6.5 million dollar defenseman Phaneuf.

I think Kadri can get 4 mil but Franson won't come close to a Phaneuf contract. Phanuef is making that money for attributes other then scoring he's physical and he's a voice in the locker room and on the bench

I also got the feeling that if I told Schenn a riddle he would have an aneurysm.

He's making that money based on ridiculous numbers he put up early in his career. That probably wouldn't be a good comparison for Franson to use.

He's also the Captain (whether we like it or not) not too many cases where the captain makes significantly less then other players in the same position

we dont need a bunch of useless draft picks we need franson in the lineup he was out highest scoring d man last year and will be again this year, kadri will be our #1 center and we wont be getting one with a bunch of useless draft picks. have to trade good players to get good players

Let's face it, the teams to win the Stanley Cup in the last five years have used draft picks in many different ways to create a winning team.

Why can't the Leafs?

Franson would be nice, but not 4 million or more nice because of 55 games. Neither is Kadri at this stage.

No teams have the cap room for offer sheets. Kadri will sign for 2.75M (2)......Franson though, that one could get a little dicey.

Franson wouldn't be offer sheeted more than 4.5 which is what it would require to command 3 draft picks and if Kadri signed for 5 he would only get a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I would think he would be more valuable than that to your team? Those 3 picks aren't going to land a 1st line center. TO would match.
