Thinking about taking my son to the scrimmage tomorrow night. Anybody else going? - Vukota
I wanted to, considered going alone. Then realized I'd have hit an all-time low if I did that. |

The text message I sent to my friend when the trade happened was, "love the player but hate the trade". Good way of putting it. For a fan like me I'll probably get over it no matter what. I love players like Clutterbuck. I'll go to games to see players like that. - Cptmjl
Exactly. Might pick up his T-Shirt if they have them at the scrimmage |

Garth should have traded Bailey to St. Louis for David Perron. He probably would have had to give up a pick because Perron is probably better. - kear20
How about for cammelleri |

Garth didnt toll Lee's contract because Garth told lee he would get out of his rookie contract ASAP if he came here, so he could make more money
I remember reading about that almost being a demand for Lee to come

this is sort of a good thing. No one can offer sheet him once he's filed. The Isles can work out a deal with him before arbitration. However it's a bad thing if they can't because he'll get a 1 year deal and I don't know how many rfa years he has left. - Isles_since_6
Yeah, see this is the thing- you file for arbitration because you HAVE to....by yesterday. Anyone who is eligible for it and doesn't have a contract on that date does it as a formality, to protect themselves and to ensure the date on which they become a UFA is as soon as it should be. It's not a personal thing....or anything for anyone to "worry" about. It's simply how it is done, per the existing labor rules.
EDIT: Unless you're Pietrangelo, and you know you're going to get an offer sheet if the team doesn't get off their a$$ and sign you. The NHLPA's best friend: the Philadelphia Flyers, and their broken calculator.... |

I don't think Lee is all that good. He needs to work on the skating, big time, or else he won't be in the NHL very long. |

Meh, I've done stuff like that a bunch of times, because I have an ex-wife who used to like doing two things: nothing......and less than that..... |

Bailey filing for arbitration is a non-issue. Its part of the process. If he wants to be here, and the team wants him, something will get done. 3-4 years at about $2M-$2.5M per should do it. Thats about all Bailey is worth. |

Story on Nabby
XxNYIxX - XxNYIxX
Thus guy writing the article is dopey. Emery had his sights set on Philly. He played there before. The Devs gave up a top ten pick for Schneider, more than the isles could have even if they wanted to. Khudobin? The guy has one year in the NHL, as a back uo no less, and this guy thinks hes a better option than nabokov? Or more upside than Poulin/Nilsson?
There werent many options out there that didnt require significant trade chips. Snow wasnt asleepat the wheel. Nabby will be fine IF cappy doesnt play him 70 games. |
