Not sure if Smallwood ever covered a beat in Philly, but I do know he's a columnist and has written a book about Allen Iverson (link: http://www.amazon.com/All...Fear-no-One/dp/0743445902).

I was watching when he made the comments on Philly SportsTalk last night. Even Panotch looked at him like what the hell are you talking about!?

Difference being Lebron never misses a game. That's a huge difference. Part of being great is staying on the playing field.

We were talking about the greatest physical specimens. Like Lindros, Bo Jackson and Lebron

I got to the point where I almost expected that line to score (or have a really good chance to score) every shift they took.

Watching Lindros play live, you could feel the air leave the building, because you were anticipating he was going to do something great.

another big difference is Lebron doesnt have his opponents legally trying to smash him against boards or decimate him with open ice hits

its not like Lindros' career was messed up because he kept pulling his hammy or something

We had a reason.

Damned if I can figure out what it was, though.

I agree. Like my initial post, I believe Lindros and Bo Jackson are pretty much parallels.

I see LeBron being on a different level.

I think this time it works, if you accept the answer as, "None, none could care less."

It happened even that little rush down the ice during the Alumni game at the Winter Classic, when Lindros took the puck and started moving with authority......you could hear the crowd's anticipation. It was crazy....and then when LeClair scored on that rush, the place went nuts.

And that was a flippin' exhibition game among old guys.

Jagr or Gagne if they were willing to sign for 1 yr and the same $$

(I know that is a stretch)

You have to choose one for next year, which is it?

Jagr by a country mile. Simply because he is worth a lot more than 1Mil and you can trade him for assets at the TDL if necessary. Gagne has little trade value at this point. Both will likely wear down in a full season.

Without a dought Lindros deserves to be in the HOF.....stats , over all game and his ability to play with a physical edge, has not been matched.....HOF voters do not vote on off ice issues, or at least they shouldn't. He played enough games to justify his induction....as for Smallwoods comments .....just consider the source......Lindros may have to wait another few years but in the end he will get there, and deservedly so.

Pretty sure that game was Tomas Vokoun's only game with the Habs.
