however the team and the player can continue negotiating while they wait for the arby date and if they agree to a contract before then there will be no arbitration.... which will probably be the case with bogosian imo.
- moylander

Yes, there have been times that a player will request arbitration to ensure a deal gets done, because it forces the team to focus before getting hit with an award they're not willing to match

Well, the player submits his numbers, the team submits their numbers and the arbitrator sets the price. The player is locked in at this point. The team can choose to accept the award for a one or two year deal, or reject the award and lose all claim to the player.

But once the process starts, the player is stuck, unless the team walks away. Also, usually when the process is done, most teams have their rosters pretty much set, so the player ends up scrambling for a new deal

End date for the team to accept or walk away from the arb amount? Sorry for being lazy.

I honestly feel Homer is waiting till next Friday to trade his D-men. I feel he is going to make that big last push for Weber. I see going to Nashville:

I believe they have a 12 hour window from the announcement of the award.

I think that we see Mesazaros traded for a bag of pucks, and then Gagne re-signed to a one year, $2mm deal.

Just a gut feeling.

So our top four is Weber, Kimmo for a year, Streit and Grossmann(if healthy). And we bring in two old, beat up wingers?

Can I just say " " again?

I would like that. However, I think they would like Laughton with the big club and there would be a little trade of a forward. Unless Rosehill is a healthy scratch as long as Gags isn't

I'm not saying that is what I want. But Homer has some serious love for Weber, and you know he will pay a premium for who he wants.

LOL after bashing the signing the vote was still way in favor of it

Was this a good signing?

Yes. Lecavalier will pay huge dividends.

No. This was a terrible use of cap space.

I love it. Bleacher Report writers might as well write rumors for EK (e4)

Rosehill will be the 13th forward, basically a cheaper version of Shelley

Trading a package for Weber that includes Coburn and LSchenn doesn't make much sense to me. Creates just as big a hole on D. And B Schenn and Read on top of that? Oh yeah, the 1st rounder too. That just creats sooooo many more issues.

The last time the Flyers made a deal like that the other team only went on to be a force in the league for an entire decade. No thank you.

If Homer had that much love for Weber, he would have traded Schenn & Couturier, and the picks, for him last year after

I doubt the price dropped over the past year. Nashville isn't going to trade him for less after paying him $27mm this past year.

maybe the same though... $51 million left to pay him over the next 5 years + the longer they keep him the more harsh the cap recapture will be if they do trade him later on because they get stuck benefiting from the lower AAV on the front-loaded contract and that does not transfer to the next team he is traded to.

Sounds funny, but big upgrade. IMO, small to big upgrade across the roster for little cost. Truthfully that's for the now, but gaining assets usually helps the future.
