They got Paajarvi back in the trade, still a stupid move.

I like Paajarvi, but MacTavish seems to have been dying to move him.

Essentially swapping Derek Roy for David Perron... wtf is St Louis thinking?

Less injury prone? Contract difficulties? ????

Pajaarvi and a 2nd rounder

Decent return. EDM couldn't wait to unload Pajaarvi eh?

Pajaarvi's really bad.

Easily. The have Hall, Yakupov, RNH(if healthy), Gagner(if re-signed), Hemsky and Eberle. He fits, for sure.
- Jsaquella

I would go in the direction of finding a Power Forward if I were Edmonton but I'm not giving up mine!!

I wouldn't say that. The always stated and present, "perhaps a change of scenery will do him good?"

He missed games due to a knee injury as well. Has nothing to do with being positive/negative. It's about being realistic. He was having vision/balance issues and was sent to the same concussion specialist that Pronger saw. Once you have a concussion history the probability that more will follow is a factor. Coupled with the type of style Grossmann plays the concern is legit.
- PLindbergh31

He missed 5 games due to tweaking a knee. As far as knee injuries go, that's minor. He has some wear and tear on his body, but there's no reason why he can't continue to play ,and play well. Grossmann has been cleared to play since June, so he has obviously overcome those issues. Players get concussions, heal and continue to play. There's a difference between being concerned, and overexaggerating his condition. And it has everything to do with being positive.

Just glad that we won't be trading Coburn to Edmonton for him now.

Perhaps. He was barred from their scoring lines, his two-way game could use work, so that could've been a reason I though he was so bad.

Yeah, MacT's gotta unload him before the hype completely wears off... the kid hasn't looked good as a pro and his upside looks pretty limited at this point.

Doug Armstrong seems to have lost his way a bit with Davidson out of the front office. I'd take a semi-healthy Perron over disinterested plugs like Roy/Paajarvi on my team any day.

I'm going to be positive Pronger returns. If I do, he shall rise like a Phoenix.

Hall / Nugent-Hopkins / Eberle
Perron / Gagner / Yakupov
Smyth / Gordon / Jones
Joensuu / Lander / Brown
Eager

They've been trying to dump Hemsky for months now, no takers.

That seems to defeat the purpose of adding a veteran presence. Add a 25 year old and dump a 29 year old? Doesn't seem logical.

I'm guessing the Oilers' front office reads Cloutier and regards Hemsky as a premier player in the league who is worth 2 1st rounders?

oh yeah, sizes are legit for Lindros but bogus for OV. Gotcha. Makes sense. Those lying liars and the lies they tell in Washington.

Thanks for the sarcastic, and uneducated post...

. Bro, I've met OV in person TWICE and he is NOT 6'2''. I'm 6'2'' and I was taller than him by almost an inch.

Why do people get SO weirded out that teams, in ALLLLL SPORTS, fudge their numbers on player size and weight? It's something that's done in almost every league. If you've ever met or seen Daniel Briere, you KNOW he is NOT what his listed height is... There are a variety of reasons teams, or players do this...

Does the fact that posters in here can report trade news before Eklund even has rumors about it bother anyone else?

I have to agree with you. I met Kimmo after a game last year, and I'm 5'11 MAYBE 6'. He came up to around my nose Much shorter than I expected.

MacT wants them to be harder team to play against and was looking to change things up culture-wise. If his focus was just on adding more veteran presence, he wouldn't have traded away Horcoff last week.

Matt Carle once met this guy, he came up to Matt's shoulder.
