I've always been far-sighted. Vanessa tries to show me something on her iphone and I can't see (frank)-all, otherwise I would switch.

I think the money angle is a little suspect. He was entering the part of his contract where he gets paid more than just about anybody in the NHL, if it was really about le money he would run that out then retire when his backlogged contract starts paying him "peanuts."

Still wonder if anything weird like this would have happened if the NHL hadn't said they were planning on banning NHL players from participating in the Olympics.


Also...I guess we know why the Devils made Salvador the captain.

Also interesting to note. With the new retirement rules by the CBA if he had retired next season the cap hit would be 500,000 per year instead of 225,000. If he had a few years down the road it could have been entering Yashin territory. You're probably right that the Devils wanted it either now or never.
