I wouldn't give up just yet on Ortio. He's only 22 which is still young for a goalie. I don't think Kipper truly cracked the NHL until he was 26 / 27. I have him down the depth chart from Brossoit and Gillies (assuming Berra and Ramo are pro level) at this point but still could prove to be an NHL goalie.

Although hes still young, Ortio has lost a lot of confidence and seems to struggle with the NA style of hockey. He doesnt challenge shooters enough and his successes have largely come from playing overseas. He took over as the starter in the SM liiga this past year and did well, but I still think hes a few guys behind on the goalie depth chart.

He is the reason i'm skeptical of both Berra and Ramo. He played a few games in the AHL and was HORRIBLE, stating it was tough to adjust to the North American game/ice. The difference is Berra and Ramo are pro's that have been playing at a high level for a long time, but still, i'm scared

Im reserving judgement about Berra, though Ive heard good things. Ramo should be strides ahead of these guys given his experience in both leagues. He should know what to expect.

Lewis was the Co-Captain for the Moose this year and was suspended for the last game of the Q finals as he fought two guys at once for running Zach Fucale and Nate MacKinnon late in the second last game. Heart and soul guy, exactly what the flames are going to need on the back end moving forward.

I think we're all scared after the Cervenka is the best player outside of the NHL last summer and now Berra and Ramo are the best goalies not in the NHL.

Agreed! With Kipper retiring, we're putting alot of our eggs in a single basket with Ramo
I mean we signed him for Bernier money and he has no experience playing in North America...

Hey guys, how's the Saddledome after all that flooding? Did you get to fix it mostly? That was sad!

You're right...Ramo is probably a different story. Also, I don't think he would try coming back to the NHL if he wasn't confident he could contribute. I doubt he will be making much more than he would have been in Russia especially considering the taxes. Anyways, time to roll the dice!

Still pretty wrecked, not sure what stage the repairs are at right now but they cancelled all concerts that were supposed to take place during stampede. Some big names, Tim McGraw, KISS and your favorite Carly Rae Jepsan

I have a buddy working as an electrician in the Saddledome and he says it is still a mess. Not even close to figuring out which equipment can and cannot be used. And though it doesn't take that long to install the control room the delivery for new items is at least a couple months. I read an article about a week ago saying that the Flames have a contingency plan in place:

I would love to see a couple regular season games in Saskatoon. I would probably take a road trip from Calgary and make a weekend of it.

Although I hope that we can get everything fixed as quick as possible, might be a good thing to have the pre-season in Saskatoon... I heard if we go there, we may yet attract some more new fans to our team
