You should look up who Pronger was traded for in the past. Believe it or not, not one of the players traded for Pronger was anywhere near as good as any of the 'untouchables'. But please keep educating us on how we won't get better until we trade our best players.

We already have 6 quality forwards though, and counting. We need a guy who puts up 25-30 points a season to be on the second line. That's all we really need now. We're obviously not competing for a cup this season, but we'll definatly see how everything works out. Also, signing 7 UFAs is considered bold. That's pretty good. I wouldn't be suprised if he has a big trade in the works as we speak.

Yup very true, but before I continue I will point out that everyone is happy that we drafted Nurse... big tough d-man (compared to pronger, alright sure). Who knows if he'll ever develop, d-men are harder to predict. Just ask Tampa about Hedman, he was compared to Lidstrom.... oops.

We did however pass on the next Malkin in Nichushkin. This team is crying for big, tough wingers that can play hard and crash the net and at 6'4 over 200 lbs we pass??? MacT's second mistake. His first mistake...... Press Conference "Expect big bold moves".

Maybe you havent paid much attention since Hedman was drafted. His development has been fantastic.

Chirelli made a bold move moving Seguin, but it's way less impactful considering he was barely a part of the core on that team.

I dunno why people interpret bold moves as they do. He said it was unlikely he would trade a kid so I'm not sure why that was expected. I think people underestimate the significance of changing out 7 roster players . 2 upgrades on defence. 5 new players to rotate in and out of the bottom 6....he's not done yet, either.
I think when he spoke of bold moves it was more or less areference to Tambo's unwillingness to do anything...it's too bad some fans took it as adding 3 new mega stars and breaking up the 'fab 5'...I never did.

I think if he comes in to a team with less pressure than in Philly... he will flourish again... further if he does sign here and outright takes the job from Dubey I am fine with it too.... I don't think they are in any bind with Burmistrov. He wasn't really that key to the team. Sucks they lost him for a couple years, but it's not a move that causes a knee jerk reaction.
