I'm very well aware of when he started, I'm the one that sent you his career earnings you (frank)ing retard. Learn to read, I said it's as far back as NHL.com stats go for TOI.
Like I said, apply inflation and than get back to me, since your so good at math.
The fact I'm even having a conversation about whether the best players in the world should make over 7+ million dollars annually with someone who can't even read is beyond asinine. - mochoson

I almosts think Daniel Cleary is THE best option remaining for us in FA.
He's not a top 6er in terms of offense, but he's a quality defender and physical presence. That's the kind of complimentary player we need.
His deal seems to be snagged with the Red Wings, I hope MacT is pressing on it. - Morris
I'd love to have that goofy Newfie on the Oilers again, but I can't see him leaving the Wings. We'll see though |

Very, very common misconception of the state of New Jersey. I cannot explain to you how annoying it is that the entire country think's the entire state is like one big episode of Jersey shore. Far from it.
New Jersey should be two completely different states. South Jersey might as well be apart of Philadelhphia. NOBODY down here likes the Devils, to give you an idea from a hockey stand point. It's lots of really nice suburbs built up over time, and a large section of South Jersey is to pricey for 90% of the country to even live in. NJ overall is one of the most expensive states in the US.
Go up north? Its the boondocks, than Newark (Devils). Completely different culture and kind of people, seriously. This is where you'll see more of the trashy Jersey accents and what not.
There was actually a movement to try and get the state separated, if I'm not mistaken. They wanted to make Philadelphia it's own state and include South Jersey, leaving Pennsylvania (minus Philadelphia) and New Jersey (minus South Jersey). THATS how different it is. I don't know how far it got or if it's even still going on, but it's been discussed. - mochoson
Very informative. Thank you. I just picture the south park episode when I think of jersey |

No you weren't wrong.
My man only looked his salary up on capgeek, there records only go back to like, 06-07. He made more than 6 million like 9 years of his 21 and definitely averaged over 7 his entire career if you account for inflation.
Math is fun. |

Because for the third time now, 97-98 is as far back as NHL.com stats go for TOI.
Which is irrelevant since you wanna mention he had 60 points his rookie year. Fine. Apply for inflation. Go ahead. Get back to me and tell me if his career earnings averages more than 7mill per. - mochoson

Severely doubt we put Horcoff on the 4th line.
Whitney-Benn-Nichuskin
Peverley-Seguin-Cole
Eakins-Horcoff-Chiasson
Roussel-Fiddler-Garbutt/Macdermid - mochoson
Benn isn't playing center. He's not a center. He's going back to LW
The lines will probably look like this
Benn-seguin-chassion
Whitney-peverly-nichuskin
Cole-Eakins-?
Rousell-horcoff-Garbutt
I'm hoping we find a 2/3 RW. If not Rousell has shown the ability to slide up in the lineup and put mcdermic 4th line.

Jesus Christ, that would suck balls, and I would forever consider MacT a (frank)ing moron if that happened. - laughs2907
Me too. Dubby is good. He puts up decent numbers with a crappy defensive team in front of him. If he can stop letting in the easy goal every game he'll be awesome. He will definitely be given the chance this year to get it together. If not we'll upgrade next offseason |

i'd give it 30-40 games and see what happens, i would consider pulling the trigger mid season if it's a poop show. otherwise there is a decent crop of ufa goalies available next frenzy. |

I disagree wholeheartedly. Jamie Benn is fine at center and I think he still plays there unless they do something like this.
Benn-Seguin-Chiasson
Whitney-Eakins-Nichuskin
Peverley-Horcoff-Cole
Roussel-Fiddler-Garbutt/Macdermid
And looking at this, I actually might like this better. Jamie Benn is definitely a capable center though, just gotta work on face-offs a little bit. I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the wing for this reason though. Seguin is a natural center and Horcoff and Peverley are both much better at face-offs. Its been an Achilles heal of this team for far too long.

No no no we should be looking for the NEXT Pietrangelo not the current Pietrangelo.
As for the 2LW, what about Hemsky -half his salary and Nick Schultz for Oshie? - TomKlassen
wouldn't this still add up to them ADDING salary? |

Dallas fans here have been begging for benn to be moved back to LW. His game fits it better and we all saw that the last few seasons after forcing him into C. Both ruff and nill have come out and said benn will be playing wing now. And the whole reason we just got 3 centers, including a center to play with benn.

Lou for segiun is a wash, so don't tell me they got more scoring. They just got a young version and some better quality bottom 6 guys - Heavyd17
From my perspective, Lou for Seguin and Peverley is an improvement to the current squad's scoring. Tough to argue that imo.
That's all I was saying - Horcoff is a good piece in a quality bottom 6 who's only real downside is that he's overpaid. |

I think he'll be improved this year as our D is already better with Ference in and Whitney out. It will be crazy to see how much King Henrik will receive if he hits the open market next year |

You might see Horcoff with the bottom line ES, but factoring in special teams I sincerely doubt Eakin will come close to being the 3rd centre in terms of TOI. Even at ES I see them getting similar time.
And the 4Cs are no slouch. Fiddler/Garbut are good enough in the bottom 6 that you can "risk" putting at least one of Peverley, Benn and Seguin on the wings. |

haha way less impactful?? not part of the core?? OKAY GUY! We clearly have a difference of opinions when it comes to BOLD moves and hockey in general. I hope PRV isn't a part of your "fab 5" - nanook82
Easy there trucker. Boston is a very deep team. They can absorb the loss of Seguin. Ericsson replaced Horton more or less. We only have 5 top 6 forwards, trading away one without a replacement ready would have a huge negative impact. Go ahead, trade one of the kids. I'm sure you can fix this team way quicker than Mac T. |
