No way picks + prospects gets you Oshie if Hitch has anything to say about it. Maybe (just maybe) if you were talking Oshie + Stewart for Hall or for Eberle + prospect + pick you might get somewhere. And you'd want to leave Osh on the wing (RW or LW) rather than move him to C. Dude is money in the corners and poor on the dot. - bluenatic411
Who's the most moveable guy on your team? How are you going to get AP and Stewart under?
I'd love to get a guy like Sobotka or Reaves if the blues needed to make some tough decisions |

I wouldn't mind getting rid of Kelly, but the Bruins depth and PK would take a pretty substantial hit. PVR and a 2nd. Would have to make it worth while for Chiarelli to part with depth.
And no I don't think that's a fair swap, but it would take something like that IMO. MacT would say no - fudd1689

Wonder how effective Marchand's agitation would be if he wasn't surrounded by big bodies that could stand up to the people he pisses off. Bet you he'd get one-shot concussed in game one of his career for the Oilers.... - Morris

keep oshie, just price for stewart please. also you are right about oshie on the wing, putting him in the centre position is absurd. - deks1
As a deal to make the cap work for STL, I would say Stewart + Polak for Gagner + Potter + conditional 1st (2nd if lottery) |

If STL wants to sign Stewart and Pietrangelo which is what I've read, they can't take cap back in a trade. Want to get 6M back with eberle? Then STL's right back where they started.
Prospects not named klefbom and Nurse and picks of STL's choice |

I love when people discount picks and prospects trades wholesale. Really?? So you wouldn't take the next 7 1st round picks?
The "player" they get is the ability to fit Stewart and AP in. They don't truly have them right now. |

I don't think either is likely. Sobotka is incredible for his cap hit (1.3M if I'm not mistaken) and while Reaves is expendable, moving his $600k for another JAG's $600k doesn't help. Word at the draft was that Perron was being "shopped," but I don't know how seriously. I heard his name connected to a deal with BUF for Miller but that was about it. Stewart probably makes the most sense for us in that his value is so high and we will have a log jam at RW (Oshie, Tarasenko, Rattie, Jaskin) in a couple of years of guys who could play Top 6 minutes at RW. We need a long-term fit at C (Roy is expected to be a rental) so some sort of deal around Stewart for Gagner (both RFA) would seem to make the most sense to me. |

Marchand and Kelly apparently available.
Sounds like Marchand might be bit of an issue like Seguin, but what the hell happens when a division rival gets him? - Lahey
OMG Marchand would be fantastic

I would hope Mac-T would say yes. We are dying for players like that...perhaps to a fault. So I say bye-bye to PRV. and a second for sure. |

Look at it this way, if we trade ebs for him we fill one hole by making another. No dice. - HouseArrest187
Isn't that where the other pieces of the deal from Boston come into play?
There's no replacing Ebs, but there is bringing in another RW. Plus, we still have Yak for an elite level (soon) RW. |

Well if it is Oshie ($4M+) and Stewart (probably $4M+) for either Eberle or Hall (each $6M) that would leave STL more than $2M to the good for next year's cap, which is about double what STL is expected to be over with no moves. I would hardly call that "right back where they started." |

I think we're probably both guilty of hyperbole at this point. Yes, STL would take EDM's next 7 first round picks for Oshie. But, no, they will not take "only" next year's 1st and a prospect not named Nurse or Klefbom. |

EDM won't trade Hall to anybody.
Also EDM doesn't have to make the trade. This potential oshi for prospects/picks deal is only if STL doesn't find a deal n need to sign AP and stewart with 7.9M which won't happen |

Should be interesting to see how it shakes out. It almost works against the blues that they don't have (m)any bad contracts that are obvious candidates to move because the choice then isn't really evident. Many Blues fans seem to have a different idea about whether to lose Stewart or lose someone else. I suppose it depends how the contract negotiations are going.

Hall and Eberle and prospect plus a pick for 2 guys that don't even equal hall or Eberle. WOW talk about overpayment by the Oilers. If MacT made this trade he would be run out of town. - Heavyd17
I think he may have meant Oshie + Stewart for Hall + OR Oshie + Stewart for Eberle + + but I don't read bad poop good like. |

I think you guys over-rate players not names Hall, Yak, RNH, Ebs, and Schultz just a tad....(those shouldn't be traded
Any player you want you throw Gabs, Hemsky, MPS, and picks at a team like that is always going to get it done. Hemsky you have little leverage because teams know MacT wants to move him. MPS as far as I know is struggling quiet a bit. And Gags is good, don't get me wrong best value of those 3, but Hammer is a warrior on the back end, Hawks wouldn't give him up so easily..... |

That was "or", not "and". But I don't see Hall moving anywhere. |
