i think lundqvist has proven he is far and away the best.

you flip vanek to rw, park him in the slot and then he gets close to 50 goals

if you have a center and winger feeding him the puck

but if vanek is a 50 goal scorer, he is nothing like stamkos

i think he should score 40 before he scored 50 06 season was great yes but to say hed score 50 is an all out lie look whos scored 50 the last 10 years Vanek isnt anywhere in that ball park.

Vanek has one of the best pair of hands in the league... however he's a very good role player. I think he deserves to be on a team/line with other talented playmakers, unlike here where he's paired with guys not at his skill level. Im worried about who we get back if we traded Vanek since he's one of the most consistent scorers on this team.

The only reason pommer got traded cause he is the closest to a complete player as we have.

If he would have been on the sabres in 2010 or 2011... he would have lead the defense in points in 10 and been second to Hoff in 11.

He is a 2nd team PP QB type guy... not much of a hitter... probably will be on our bottom pairing with Weber.

Pommer wasn't even captain material... he seemed too soft. The team looks much tougher than two years ago, but we still lack intensity on the two top lines and throughout our def core minus Ehrhoff

Vanek is a guy that I wouldn't sign past 34 because of the beating he has taken. This is not at all the same as saying he is past his prime now.

Needed a change of scenery.

But came into camp out of shape, so who's fault was it really? His, it seems.

Offensive guy, not physical.

he would be a good 3 RW or 2RW on certain teams... he could even be a good 2C for another team... but he just doesn't fit with Buffalo's philosophy of being a big and hard to play against team.

McBain was in the dog house with Carolina for being out of shape last season. Before that he was a very solid defender for Carolina and I think had garnered ROTY talk at one point.. I could be wrong...

We trade Sekera who could play very good on international ice but not really find his touch in the US game... and his salary for a 2nd rounder and another solid DMan who is probably just as good if not better than Sekera.

We stole that trade in my mind....


Carolina also had offered McBain and 5th overall for Sekera, 8th overall, and 38th overall but we said no.

I was happy cause I thought the whole ship was getting blown up. Seems more like a bad reality show where pommer was the next one voted off the island
