We need to add something tho. Right now were way behind Pittsburgh. And that's for a few years at least. This current team would have a tough time beating them. - Slimtj100
I wouldn't say we're way behind pitt. Maybe a little offensively but theyre way behind us defensively. Id argue we might have more offense depth than them too. I think we're a better all around team than pitt. |

Brown yes. Pavelski yes. Vanek yes. Kessel yes. Sedins yes. Marleau and Thornton yes. Nothing else really gets me overly excited |

Little better offensively? our defense is better but we have one bonafide scorer. They have like 4 or 5. They way to beat Pitt is to intimadate physically. We can't do that either |

After that, theyre very thin. We are much deeper offensively while they are top heavy. |

Dupuis and Kunitz are products of Crosby. They are great, but not the same when not centering them. Dupuis I know is a joke outisde of Pittsburgh. Look at his time with Minnesota and New York. . |

Here is next year's UFA list. All kinds of good players, both at the high-end and mid-level part of the market (including our own). - Pete V

The Rangers are going to have some interesting decisions to make next year. Girardi and Callahan present really interesting cases, because I am hoping each of them will take a little less than what the could otherwise get on the open market. Girardi would be nice to lock in for about 4 years at around McDonagh's annual hit (maybe $5 million per), and it would also be nice to keep Callahan at about $5 million. Paying Callahan $6 million a year long term scares me, despite how much I love the guy. |

It's tough. Your right on Callahan. Both Callahan and girardi are so vital in how they play for us, but playing that way makes them a liability down the road also (potential injury, wear and tear, etc) They actully deserve more money then there stats would indicate. It's a catch 22 because I Donot think a team can win the cup without players like them. |

Is it possible next year at the deadline, assuming were out of playoff contention, we move on from girardi and get a handsome package for him? I could see that or I could see us extending him mid year aswell |

That was more wishful thinking I think
I suppose it could be like a DZ for gagner as the main components |

I can see us acquiring someone like Magnus Paajarvi from the Oilers. Former Top 10 pick that is stuck in neutral, and perhaps needs a change of location. |

If we acquire Gagner, we will have six centers, not even including Miller. We need a winger! |

Yea I'm not overly high on him either. Paajarvi is actully a pretty good thought. Is he fast? I get pouliet from him tho
Edit: meaning he's bigger but hasn't done much offensively considering his draft position |
