Well something's are worth sacrificing. I love girardi but these twins are game breakers. Imagine them with Nash or even on a seperate line where Nash is on the second line best top 6 in the leauge
- Slimtj100

I'd rather see the Rangers win then having the best "suspected top 6" in the NHL

Nash, Sedin, Sedin, Stepan, Callahan, Lundqvist. Thats a 100pt. player, a 90pt. player, 2 80pt players and a 60pt. player, and the leagues (probable) most expensive goalie. LOL, thats not a feasible build, you would have nothing left to build the rest of the team. Look at Pittsburgh! They weren't even as top heavy, and they were only able to do it at the end of the year with Iginla's prorated cap hit for the playoffs.

Carl Hagelin ($2.000m) / J.T. Miller ($1.244m) / Danny Kristo (1.300m)
Jesper Fasth ($0.900m) / Oscar Lindberg ($0.760m) / Derek Dorsett ($1.633m)

No 13th forward or 7th defensemen. Yeah, it's impossible.

That's 3M over and no Xtra players. And some discounts in there too. Plus I think u are overestimating how much we can rely on Oscar Fast etc... You are relying on 6 ELC players on your roster. Like I said, you could do it, but you will have serious liabilities all over the roster.

I didnt update Stralman either... but he might be gone in the event of bringing in the Sedins.

More realistically, I could see us just going after Thornton.

I want nothing to do with the twins. They will re sign in vancouver before the next offseason anyway.

They are great players. Certainly not the toughest guys in the league but they score. But the Idea they sign here and the Rangers still have room to keep all the key guys is nothing short of impossible.

Great players but they never won anything under av in their prime so I dont want them here for 7 mil a season when theyre 34+ and declining.

Got to within a victory of the cup. Granted, they lost so that means they came up short. Are they skilled, probably some of the best pure skill guys in the league. But having a "1st line" close to a value of 25 million is asking for trouble.

Any chance Torts plays a role in that decision? Before he was named HC id agree 100%, now it at least has to weigh on them. They could hit it off and it's a moot point but with him there it could get bad.

These swedes are very united so it wouldn't surprise me because of hank they take a discount to play with him

And much of their success has been in a fairly weak division their whole career. You can't build a roster like that against arguably the strongest group of opponents in the league. How will they fair in the Atlantic?

I usually get ripped apart for wanting a tougher team playing in the east

Again, that was a couple years ago in their prime. They wont be the same players once we sign them and it will be brad richards all over again.

Perhaps but the twins were the ones that advocated for torts the most on that team...obviously that was before they ever played for him tho haha.

I'd say its 80% they stay in van. 20% another team. And 100% of the 20% is the NYR

The av factor will certainly play a big role in it if they ever hit the market but unless it for 5 mil and under each aav, I would stay away from them.

It was a nice deal for the Rangers to get MCD locked up at a not so crazy salary. I think Stepan will be similar, maybe a 5 year 22.5 mil deal.

We need to add something tho. Right now were way behind Pittsburgh. And that's for a few years at least. This current team would have a tough time beating them.

For the Rangers to qualify him, he has to be making 4 million. If the Rangers don't qualify him at 4 million they lose him to UFA.
- tomburton99

Yes but they can qualify him in order to retain his rigt thens sign him to a long-term extension at whatever annual salary they can agree to. It doesn't necessarily mean he has to make $4M per if they qualify him.
