Wiki says:

The Whalers entered the 1993-94 season with high hopes from a core of young talented players. The Whalers were also able to draft defenseman Chris Pronger who began his career with the Whalers, playing alongside veteran defenseman Brad McCrimmon, and later became an NHL star. However, problems began at the management level when General Manager Brian Burke announced he would resign when the season began to take an executive position with the NHL. In addition, Burke had some disagreements with team owner Richard Gordon.

After Burke left, Holmgren took over as Head Coach and General Manager. The Whalers started off the season poorly. Holmgren felt he was unable to handle the job of GM and Head Coach so he made Pierre McGuire the new Head Coach so Holmgren could focus on his duties as GM. The coaching change did not help the Whalers since McGuire was not popular with the players and the Whalers continued to struggle.

The Whalers reached a low point in the season when six players and two assistant coaches were arrested in Buffalo after being involved in a bar room brawl. Pronger was one of the players arrested even though he was 19 years old at the time, two years below than the legal drinking age in New York state. Around this same time Paul Holmgren checked himself into rehab for alcohol addiction.

Wow, I can see the bar fight. But not outrunning the cops. Sheesh.

On a non funny note. Wow, just wow...

Too late and not interested unless he's going to dish on some of the behind the scenes stuff that went on when he was here.

Bob Clarke put sand on the floor of his locker room stall and sawed a nick into his sticks during the 1997 SCF.

It's true.

Lukin just won big at the casino.

Bo's clothes are getting baggy

Sarahbriere's hung over.

(The last one's just an educated guess.)

Chris Pronger doesn't run, the road just tries to get away from him.

darn grace that sucks

what is the dog hospice (i'm too familiar with the people version)

- Marc D

Basically same idea. I have 4 aging and falling apart dogs. 1 is blind, on insulin, and losing mobility fast, 1 had his red blood cell count go through the floor lose 13lbs and has been having "issues" in the house becasue of all the steroids he's on. 1 has pannus and is on 6 eye drops a day (luckily thurs I take her in to see if we can go to 1 drop a day), and the last one is slowly winding down but no immediate OMG issues.

I wish he'd have returned last season. His humor would've made last season more bearable:

so far i'm ok w/ most of the moves homer has made, but it's a fallacy to assume that the streit p/u is an indication that couts or schenn are not getting moved.
- isaiah520

Dead on with the fallacy part. Just hope they don't blow it.... Again. Ok back to work.

I never went to a game there. The building held like 10,500 or something didn't it?

I bet you got to see ZZ (Zarley Zalapski) and Peter Sidorkiewicz.

- PLindbergh31

Propp and McCrimmon were there. Verbeek and Sanderson were their big players. For some reason I think Burke was the goalie but I don't really remember.

Sheesh. Our cat had a tooth out and the bloodwork indicates he's anemic and might have cancer. But that's 1 pet and we have a newborn in the house. Nowhere close to 4 aged dogs.

God bless you!

I would actually be ok with that. Jagr's groin, Gagne's injury history... what's the difference?
