Just an FYI, if you want Vanek its gunna cost a super forward+1st for vanek and a 2nd or 3rd. Nurse or schultz wont do it because of buffalo's already great young d prospects. Myers, Pysyk, Ristolainen, Zadorov, Ruhwedel, Mcnabb, Mccabe on top of ehrhoff. - Djtyczy
Hall +a first and a second for vanek??! |

It's still significantly annoying. This plug is making money off of writing the exact same stuff every day. I'd bet tomorrow he makes some new trade ideas up and pitches his "untouchables" and what the lineup pairings will be. I don't know how you folks tolerate this garbage. - trolleytracks
Hey the big guy has gotta eat, and he eats a lot so he needs this second job for food money. |

Even if they were willing to part with a "super forward" and a 1st, short term and long term that makes them worse. And seriously I don't care how many D we have, I'd take Schultz over any of them.
As for the Vanek deal, I don't know too much about the Oilers prospects but based on what Cloutier just wrote I'd think a deal would look something like:
Paajarvi, Lander, 1st and a prospect that isn't one of the untouchables. It's steep but if they really are surplus' it really shouldn't be a huge problem. |

Let's talk about teams that need to move salary. Would the Flyers part with Jakub Voracek or Wayne Simmonds? Would the Sharks deal Brent Burns?

No deal for Vanik...the most important thing is that he is not filling what our team needs...a physical LW on the Top6
Read about EKane earlier today...that kid I would pay for.

Most of our assets aren't oilers yet. Most of our best assets don't have names yet.
No one is interested in 1st or 2nd round picks eh? - Morris
Oh sorry. Those weren't listed in the untouchables? I just assumed they were since everyone else is. |

Evander would be great with the Oilers but why on earth would the Jets deal Kane? He is their Taylor Hall. |

I'd think we'd get more immediate help from St. Louis. Still not the worst deal though, wonder what the Oil fans think |

Oh I know, i was just speaking on hypotheticals. In reality there's a better chance of Crosby being traded than Regier dealing Vanek to the Oilers. |

StL has 7.8. AP gets 4.5/4...leaves 3.2
they have too many forwards (15 on roster as per CapGeek) and Dmen (drop Chorney).
they can clear another couple of M to give CS 4.5/3.
Those players need to take a discount this contract. The Blues have already gotten Shattenkirk to do it, no reason to think they cannot do it again. - OilHorse
4-4.5 mil? That's quite the bargain.
I don't think they'll be able to get both players under contract, but I'm sure that St. Louis would like to bolster their wingers in any deal - especially on the right side. |

Both great players, but the asking price would be to high. For either of those players..
If I'm macT I'm calling St. Louis daily and harassing them about oshie.. Would look great in oiler silks.. Would probably start with next years first and a high prospect.. Maybe a marincin? - Zinner
Am I the only one who thinks trading away the Oils first rounder next year is a ridiculous idea considering they ain't making the playoffs and McDavid is eligible? |

I know, just saying...even both at 5 is doable with only 1 trade and sending guys down.
StL is like Phi...take some work but it can be done. |
