As for the Vanek deal, I don't know too much about the Oilers prospects but based on what Cloutier just wrote I'd think a deal would look something like:

Paajarvi, Lander, 1st and a prospect that isn't one of the untouchables. It's steep but if they really are surplus' it really shouldn't be a huge problem.

Let's talk about teams that need to move salary. Would the Flyers part with Jakub Voracek or Wayne Simmonds? Would the Sharks deal Brent Burns?

StL has 7.8. AP gets 4.5/4...leaves 3.2

they have too many forwards (15 on roster as per CapGeek) and Dmen (drop Chorney).

they can clear another couple of M to give CS 4.5/3.

Those players need to take a discount this contract. The Blues have already gotten Shattenkirk to do it, no reason to think they cannot do it again.

Both great players, but the asking price would be to high. For either of those players..

If I'm macT I'm calling St. Louis daily and harassing them about oshie.. Would look great in oiler silks.. Would probably start with next years first and a high prospect.. Maybe a marincin?

4-4.5 mil? That's quite the bargain.

StL is like Phi...take some work but it can be done.

My only untouchables are hall and yaks there both gonna be dynamite but the other guys I would trade if the deal coming back was a no brainer and to the guy qho said voracek and simmonds are worth a super kid you should give your head a shake haha
