would be a more worthwhile topic than watching you play ea sports hockey each blog with these lines. whats sad... and I am serious about sad because I feel bad for the oilers fans, is that the aforementioned owner might have a winning team soon and longer than the oilers! - ChrisMS
sooner probably. They've been to the playoffs for the past two years! Why do you figure longer? |

Good call bro. Gas yourself in the garage while in your car cranking up the 80's hair metal and going out to "Home sweet Home" by the Crue. |

Just an FYI, if you want Vanek its gunna cost a super forward+1st for vanek and a 2nd or 3rd. Nurse or schultz wont do it because of buffalo's already great young d prospects. Myers, Pysyk, Ristolainen, Zadorov, Ruhwedel, Mcnabb, Mccabe on top of ehrhoff. |

Love to get Hartnell for a good price, but I'm so confused in talking to flyers fans: half of them want Eberle back in return and half of them want to drive him to the airport themselves.
What do you figure he's worth? - Morris
Depends on who you're asking, I've never been a fan of his really, I was dying for them to trade him after last season when he had 30 something goals and his value was through the roof. I knew it was just a mirage, but I'm getting off topic. I could see paajarvi and maybe a first being a good trade for him, personally I think wed be fleecing you guys if that went through though. |

Step 1: Talk about untouchables.
Step 2: Make up line combos.
Step 3: Repeat things from last 50 blogs. - trolleytracks
Didn't actually find that this blog was identical to others.
The big difference for me is no low-ball trade proposals.
Why not speculate on what St Louis will do to get those two guys signed? The Oilers have picks, prospects and roster players enough to get some guys who will be lost in the post stewart and AP fallout. What's so unreasonable about that? |

You'll have to understand how imprudent that would be for us given Vanek's contract situation. |

It's always the same poop, over and over, with Clouts. Before even reading a blog you can assume he's going to talk about untouchables and line combos. |

I agree with Clouts on the so called "untouchables", it just doesn't make sense to suck year after year, draft a strong core of players and then trade them away. I realize every player can be traded in the NHL but the asking prices on those players should scare every other GM away anyways. Also it is ridiculous to make trade offers on this site because the fans from every other team automatically respond with "not unless one of the super kids is coming back". I bet if we wanted Taylor Chorney from St. Louis, a blues fan would say " sure for Eberle". The truth of the matter is that the Oilers have enough prospects and picks to trade teams that the "untouchables" stay just that. |

I think that's probably the asking rate for a guy like Hartnell. Any GM in the league can see a feisty PWF would help us a lot, and should probably charge accordingly. We're a bubble playoff team, so a 1st is hard to swallow, but he's an intriguing option for us even if his scoring does decline a bit. |

Well Myers is already here, as is Pysyk. Ristolianien this year or next (he will play AHL or NHL), Zadorov will play 1 more year in London then for buffalo. Mccabe is 1-2 years away. Ruhwedel is ready. Mcnabb is ready. |

Over the past 6 months I have seen Clouts come up with some wild rumors. Many have spurred on great conversations. However, I am disappointed when people begin to call Clouts all kind of names. If you don't like his blogs don't read them. If you disagree with his ideas explain why. Ie. Clouts: I disagree with your thoughts on Lucic (which being honest was a little crazy ) becoming an oiler because the Oil are unwilling to move one of their young guns to get it done and really Boston has no interest in trading him. Clouts is a blogger who does was blogger do: inspire thought and discussion. Don't like it don't read it...

I agree that he could condense his blurb about untouachables, but it's essentially a rider to prevent against what USED to dominate all the blog comments:
"Kids aren't getting you anywhere. who's dubnyk? You obviously need a goalie. How about Eberle and a 1st for Liles and the rights to Ben Scrivens?"
Better to just out and out say that the blog isn't about who we can get using one of the core players right now. And again, much less annoying if he isn't suggesting the Oilers can get AP for Omark + a 2nd. |

Still a very young team with great prospects, but also some top talent. Spezza, Ryan, Karlson, solid players now. Great prospects coming up. A goalie now in anderson and a goalie of the future in lehner... both of which I would take over Dubnyk. I would love to watch the oilers finally make the next step in this rebuild but damn if I completely lack confidence they will |

It's still significantly annoying. This plug is making money off of writing the exact same stuff every day. I'd bet tomorrow he makes some new trade ideas up and pitches his "untouchables" and what the lineup pairings will be. I don't know how you folks tolerate this garbage. |

Tyler Seguin got traded and everyone said "what the hell is wrong with Seguin?"
I reaally don't think we're going to get appropriate value by shopping one of the core players so young into their careers. |

They need to make the next step, but I don't really see what generates a 'complete lack of confidence' moreso than any other team on the upswing.
I'm inclined to say that our D prospects coming up are on par with their O prospects coming up. I don't see any particular reason to bet on their longevity vs ours. |

Yet people still come read his 3 blogs a day, fans post in his forum, other team fans post to tell him how stupid he is and he keeps making money off the boatload of hits he gets. Clouts isn't stupid, he knows exactly how to push everyone's buttons and in turn make money doing it. I doubt any other blogger besides Ek makes more $$ than Clouts and all it takes is to produce a simple template for blogging and the people keep coming. I doubt he cares what people call him on a website while he's out spending his cash. |

None of us are signing the paycheques.
If you're pissed at the cash grab, why don't you pitch becoming the replacement oilers blogger?
Most people just come to post in the comments. Plus, it's fun to poke holes in his suggestions. |

I would stack the Oil D prospects vs the Sabres and feel confident.
J Shultz, Nurse, Klefbom, Marincin, Gernat, Musil
Add Petry and Smid who have grown up in the Oiler system. |

Don;t enter or post if it annoys your so terribly that he makes money off of this. Reduce his pay the only way you actually can. |
