You're a riot! We're going to give up a first overall pick plus a first plus more to get an over rated streaky player that is over paid and is a UFA in a year?
(frank)in stupid poop you hear on this site man. - Iggysbff
you forgot the 2nd he implied it would take along with the 1st rounder and one of the kids |

wow.... Are you serious... Miller is in a different league then duby. Duby would be a backup anywhere else in the NHL. Miller is an olympian who won sliver for the US. Before you say duby had better stats 1 shortened year, i remind you buffalo was statistically a bottom 3 team in the NHL and miller faced the most shots in the league. - Djtyczy
Miller is by far the most over rated goalie in the league, and I wouldn't want him on my team just because of how he made himself look like a complete jack ass and (frank)ing loser during the lockout, screw Miller |

Man, I don't really see a whole lot of Buffalo fans around here usually, this blog has made it quite obvious that they really have no clue about hockey, some of the poop I've read in here is just straight asinine, absolutely ridiculous. |

yeah poop I wasn't bringing up a specific incident.
Just the irritating idea that we should trade 1-2 of our core players, and expect a lesser return because "we have soooo many holes in our lineup".
Again, Seguin is a league-wide joke right now. If we put Nuge/Eberle on the market, teams wouldn't line up their best players for a trade that helps both teams. They'd say "what's wrong with your young gun?" and try to lowball us.
Even if some of the posters that come in here don't know the Oilers that well, surely they understand good asset management? - Morris
Its very clear that the majority of posters on here have absolutely no concept of asset management. |

If you actually wanted to quell silly rumours you wouldn't post your daily "10 things off the top of an idiot's head". How about you get a clue. You can't post half the bullpoop you do and expect one inch of leeway for complaining. Look in the mirror ass clown.
Also no one gives a poop when you say players are untouchable. You don't know poop about the NHL, you aren't an Oilers insider and you certainly don't speak for the team. - Lipchitz

I would totally take Boyes- yes he is 6'0" but he has had "6" 40+pt seasons- (frank)ing 6 out of 9 NHL seasons!! further he remains unsigned yet last year he had 35 pts... I know he is getting older but Clarkson is 6'1" 29 years and had 1- (frank)iing 1-40pt season in 7 NHL Seasons and this year got 24 pts... What do people see in Clarkson that they dont see in Boyes??? cause for mathematics Boyes is by FAR and WIDE the better player - saskoil21
Honestly, I don't see boyes as the physical presence that grind and has an agitating attitude towards the opposing team. Sure he had a good season on the island and I would take his contract (est. $2m minimum sign) over clarkson's, but he tends to stay away from physical contact and also the dirty areas. He did well lighting the lamp before, looking at his stats, he has become more of a playmaker. If you ask me go to pick for putting up points and focus being a skilled forward, boyes, otherwise I choose clarkson for that physical try to get under your skin and yap away force on the forward front. |

Not all Buffalo fans think that way mind you.
I wanted Josh Bailey and a second for Miller from NYI, conditional on Miller resigning. But they have sense re-singed Nabokov.
I dont think the Sabres and Oilers make great trade partners. They have the same group of players. A very young promising D, and a young crop of forwards, EDM having the advantage talent wise. |

I think the big myth remaining is that teams are so desperate to make changes, the GMs act without forethought and get lowballed in trades.
That definitely happens in free agency, but most GMs who get lowballed or pressured in a trade don't often stick around long enough to be able to make another. GMs are very very cautious generally speaking, especially with their best assets; Cautious to a fault most of the time, as assets like Iginla, Lecavalier and Rick Nash depreciate for fear of getting lowballed. |

fair enough, but the few who decided to grace us with their presence in this blog have had some pretty ridiculous ideas in their head of what a 29 year old with 1 year left on his contract is worth. |

29 years old is not anyhting crazy, he still has a good 5-6 years left in him. I believe Vanek is top 10 in goals scored since the lockout. He is a very talented player. I think any trade involving Vanek is contingent on him being signed.
But like I said I dont see EDM and BUF being good trade partners. |

If I am Edmonton, I do Hall for Pietrangelo every day.
If I am St. Louis, I do not even consider the deal. - Aetherial
Why not if you were St. Louis? Hall has a higher ceiling than Pietrangelo plus they need forwards. That being said I sure as hell wouldn't do that if I was MacT. I'd rather trade Ebs. History tells us how good first overall picks are in the NHL. |
