He won't get it but I have seen people on here saying he will only get 3 or less. Will definatley be more than 3. Maybe high 3's if a shorter deal.

I just don't see how Liles contract makes sense now. If he had 1 or 2 years left maybe but Leafs have way to many puck movers in the pipe and not enough stay at home guys. Need to flip with someone.

the Liles deal really never made sense, both in terms of dollars for the player and term.

Liles coming off the concussion and not really having any kind of physical presence at all, not really being able to help on the penalty kill at all... all limiting factors to me.

There are a few teams it would seem who could use this type of player, thinking the Islanders who lost Streit and possibly the Canes who don't really have much offense or puck moving on the back end (they are up agains the CAP as well I believe).

I think the key in this whole RFA situation (duh) is to not overpay anyone of the them, and using Subban's short bridge contract as a model would be the best approach... .particularly with Gunnarson in my opinion. Giving him anything more than 2.0 - 2.5 is folly. Franson 3.0-3.25 should do it .. .and make the deals shortish, if they excel good for them... if they don't lower risk. Kadri would be stupid to take a long deal (in my opinion) with his upside.

Shot a gun - actually a bunch of guns - for the first time this weekend. Gun range up in Blue Mountain. Pretty cool - not sure I'll do it again but felt cool with that "dirty harry" 44 magnum in my hand.

Also, I can confirm that Clarkson is happy to be a Leaf. He was drunk at a pub in the village on Saturday night dancing his ass off.

I think the Leafs are hoping that guys like Blacker finally take that next step to the NHL. He's about the right age now to be show he can belong. I'll give guys like Rielly, Finn and Percy another year or so, but someone from the farm that isn't Holzer needs to have a strong camp and push the incumbents.

And...I think Franson is as good as gone, as painful as that is for me to say. The two sides aren't talking, there's no doubt Franson will file for arbitration, as he should. I think Nonis is just waiting for the right first line Centre trade to materialize (i.e. Stastny) and will use Franson as a trade chip.

Stastny makes 6.1M and we just resigned Bozak. So unless Bolland or McClement is going the other way with some extra salary (liles?), we arent getting him. Franson needs to be moved for a decent prospect if anything otherwise it doesnt work. What about Ryan Johansen from Columbus?

The cap is expected to go up again next year. Deal franson and just resign kadri and Gunnar, send liles to minors or move in a trade (very unlikely)
