I kinda wish Burke was still our GM.

Probably would have found a way to get rid of Grabo without using a buyout.

And who knows... a big trade with Anaheim involving one of his draft picks? I think he'd be in on that.

not pleased with nonis personally.

but - we shall see how it all pans out.

Yeah, tsn messed up, but still, fact is we had a centre in the top 15 in points. I think we really need to stop whining about a #1 centre, at least until Kadri fails to produce.

What pisses me off about him is that there have been two glaring needs for the Leafs, a number one centre, and more veteran leadership on defense. We'll be near the cap soon, and neither of those needs were addressed.

Well said. I don't know how many top UFA lists I saw with David Clarkson as a "coveted" free agent if not top on the lists, we sign him to a typically-poopty UFA contract, a contract that every player in the top 5 gets regardless of player, year, age, etc., and we've made a huge mistake.

We had a well-defined need for David Clarkson, I mean, as clear-cut as any team in the league; let's let the man play a (frank)ing game before we start Gomezing him.

- gravyface

Being a top UFA this year doesn't exactly make an argument for cant miss player. Like was said. Tyler bozak was a 'top' free agent this summer.

The problem was, the money was flying around as usual, the quality wasn't there.

Can't imagine the paydays getzlaf and perry would've taken home had they not signed extensions.

You have some smart sources. I will guess at 4.5 on a long deal like that. Again as the cap goes up, he will be a bargin in a couple of years.

Agree. We are going to have Bozak as #1 C, AGAIN.

Some of the Only Vet D Guys left are Hainsey, Murray, White

And EK says we are very close on Ryan Whitney

Still waiting for Penner to sign as well!

Always been a big Hawks Toews fan. But changed my team/picture when Brière signed.

Felt like bailing on the Leafs when Ballsack signed, but oh well. Could be worse.

Exactly! God f-uckin damnit, we landed one of the top 3 UFA's in the off-season, something that NEVER happens and everyone just loves to hate on it.

Nonis has it right. He doesn't care about 6 years from now. The cap could be up over 80 mill and 5 million could be the average salary for a top 9 forward. Who knows? Just be happy that the Leafs are a better team. The media in this city is so bi-polar and an absolute joke
