I'd like to see them take a FA flyer on a guy like Det's Damian Brunner.


Here's a speedy, crafty, skill guy with top 6 upside who could look at the Buffalo rebuild as an opportunity to log some serious ice time in attempt to really establish himself in the NHL.


Last yr, in his first NHL season, Brunner tallied 26 points in 44 games. You can mix this guy into your top 9 right now, and down the road he could easily blossom into a 20-25g scorer.

Well, at least he has more upside than Gerbe anyway. But these are the "diamond in the rough" types that Darcy should be looking for. Not 34 yr old d-man...

I can stand behind taking a flyer on a few of these potential diamonds in the rough. When it all comes down to it I want guys who played into the lineup rather then be given it based on where and when they were drafted.

Seeing the moves that the "new" gms have made just makes me very upset and really starting to not like this organization. We all know I stood behind Darcy for a long time and really its just about that time to just shanke your head and admit you backed the wrong guy.

I know the Jagr stuff is all just made up, but it's not like it's all that far fetched. We have terrible RW depth and Jagr has proven he will go to whoever offers him a nice payday. He would be one of the only interesting things on a young team no one expects much out of and we could trade him at the deadline to a contender for assets just like Dallas did.

darcy was REALLY into him a few years ago. I'm so glad we had too many defensemen and couldn't sign him!
