Hank makes sense. The last time Myers was a good defensmen was when Hank was his D partner. If it rights Myers ship, then it will be worth it. If it doesn't both will be shipped out after next year. You have to try anything right?

If your that invested into one player, who currently is a tire fire, you need to try anything. Tallinder was a big part of Myers Calder season. Without him playing the effective stay home D-man, Myers is trade fodder years ago.

Myers is the worse d-man on the team, maybe on the east coast. Sabres are paying him 5.5 / year. You have to try and make that work out somehow. IF Myers is better by the end of this year, his trade value will be near ZERO and will be bought out.

I have no problem with the Tallinder trade. We gave up nothing (Boychuk) for the potential of bringing in someone who can mentor the young D on this team, not just Myers. I could be wrong, but envision Tallinder being the 7/8 D on this team playing around 50% or less of the games. This allows for guys like McNabb, Pysyk, Ruhwedel, Risto to play some but also have a seat in the presser when their confidence gets rattled. Babysitting=no, mentoring=yes.
