I see what you did there. But remember when Jagr signed in Philly? Pegula pushed hard for him then. Maybe he just can't let the fan in him go away

It's so sad how sad this organization is

This poop better not be true

This would be Terrell Owens to Buffalo v2.0

This would be the ultimate cheesy marketing move. Pathetic attempt to make the lame duck GM seem productive. Pander to low brow fringe hockey fans who will order jerseys the second his # is confirmed. A way to get your team back in the headlines and sell more tickets and crap...................on and on and on and on

Our RW depth sucks. It would only be until the deadline and then he'd get moved to a team looking to add for a cup run. So basically you have an all time great on the team for a few months and then get a free 2nd round pick. It wouldn't be that bad.

Dude Mark Mancari will skate circles around that old man and outscore the poop out of him. People were blowing Jagr the whole playoffs. I watched all those games. He didn't do poop. Granted he didn't turn pucks over or end up in the box. But he otherwise did nothing.

Exactly - we essentially bought a second (or better) round pick. This is exactly where we should leveraging Pegula's money. If we are going to be making the big trades we can certainly use the oil money to either bring on these kinds of rentals or buy out other team's bad contracts. I never liked Jagr and I am all for the youth movement. I am also fine with this signing.

I get that aspect of it. The (potential) 5 mil doesn't phase me, we are way down in salary. But the could have moved Gerbe to right wing, called Mancari up. Anything.

I thought he was actually pretty strong in the playoffs. Didn't score but he set up quite a few chances for his linemates. 14 goals and 12 assists in 34 games last year for Dallas - not too bad. He is a shell of his former self but that doesn't mean he won't have some value.

I've how when someone refutes your point with a simple fact you hangs up the Convo. Classic misdirection.

How do you figure, you mentioned Jagr and how he likes to gamble and then talk to me like I don't know what you previous post meant. Classic troll

Honestly even if he signed here he wouldn't play the entire season out unless we are a playoff team. It's not really that bad of a move. We trade him at the deadline for more assets. Even if it's not a first and a prospect like Dallas got it would still be a prospect and a second round pick. The only risk in it is the money you have to pay him which we have plenty of cap space. If Vanek gets moved Drew Stafford is our best scoring winger! That's flat out awful.

It isn't as bad as the TO thing we can at least turn him into some assets

Mark Mancari couldn't skate circles around a pylon.

Jagr had 35 pts in 45 games this year, including 16 goals. And most of that came on a crap Dallas team.

We get it, you don't like him.

But you've got to come with something better than a Mark Mancari comparison.

He would have to be on a deep team that is a real competitor. And that's why this is not happening. Next subject.

Dallas received forwards Lane MacDermid and Cody Payne, along with a conditional second-round pick in the 2013 draft.

thats what Dallas got for Jagr.

Jagr had 14 goals in 34 games. Last Year.

1) It is just an idea to kick around. There isn't anything else going on. Don't we all get tired of the "fire darcy" threads?

2) He did the same thing last year so it shouldn't be out of the realm of being possible. The guy is a hired gun, plain and simple. We're not talking about Alfie trying to win his first cup.

Either way. I've made it clear. Signing Jagr(which is not happening anyways) would be nothing but a display of mental masturbation by Pegs and Darcy. Evidence that they have no real intent on winning a cup, but just proving they can use their money and power to play NHL13 GM mode in real life. It would also be an insult to any Sabres fan with half a brain.

That's right it would have been a 1st if they won the cup or something. It's still not that bad of a trade. Jagr at 42 was more productive than everyone on our roster not named Vanek or Hodgson

We could always sign Brad Boyes instead. I mean he was supposed to be the first sign that things were changing because they got him with a year left on his deal.
