Just make the trade rather than offer sheet. I think St Louis has made it clear they are not going to fit both Stewart and Piet. Even of they do they would need to trade Oshie or Perron for picks. There are not that many teams left that can handle taking on salary without giving some back.
Trade them Marancin and 2014 1st for Stewart. Sign him 4.5 - 5 per.
Sign Hainsey. Ship Hemsky out asap before teams fill their rosters.

They aren't going to trade Stewart. All signs point to them wanting to move Perron, if that fails then Oshie appears to be next in line. Marincin and a 1st is a trade I just don't think they would have any interest in making anyway.

Still the same weak bottom-6 as we had last year. In fact, I'd argue it even weaker. Are you ready for another bottom-10 finish? |

Thats what I am thinking. I forgot he switched teams. However I do know he WAS moved from the top 2 lines to the 4th line by St. Louis for a few months. It just seemed like a long time ago. However I do remember ranting about St.Louis having no one else to replace him and that it was a garbage decision. - Hall Fan
The offer sheets we would have to throw at them would need to be pretty substantial for them to not match. Stewart probably 5.5 and Pietrangelo 8. But we have the room and the cap is going up next year

I agree. Stewart on a 3 year deal at 13.5 mil would be cool. - Hall Fan
They would match 4.5 in a heartbeat. It would need to be more. Enough that it would hurt their cap. |

This+++! Could you imagine Seguin and his ego going up against Hall's we would have trouble and ruin the future core fast - saskoil21
No, had they been drafted and developed together they would have grown up as friends. |

Why would we throw in Marincin? We could just offer sheet them and they get a 3rd rounder instead. Gotta manage those assets better than that. |

add a 4c and two bottom right wingers. |

I'd pencil Eager into that 4th line or as the 13th/14th forward. |

If the plan is to go into this season with RNH/Gagner/Gordon/Lander at center then god help us. |

We need AT LEAST 1 more FO winning bottom six C with some offense (preferably 2) and probably two bottom six wingers (one to bring serious grit and one who brings some offense). Of course, I'd prefer players who can play a solid defensive game as well.
Looking at the remaining players in FA, I'd be looking at guys like like Vinny Prospal, Lombardi, Brent, Malholtra, or even Wellwood as the centres. Wellwood would obviously be a last resort, but he still qualifies. On the wings I'd be looking into Morrow, Jagr, Larose, Cleary, Mueller, Boyes, and perhaps even Nodl. |

RNH is still going to be recovering from his surgery at the beginning of the season and Gagner isn't even signed. So as of right now we have Gordon/Lander/Arcobello/Ryan Smyth as our starting 4. Bob Stauffer tweeted a couple days ago to pencil Lander in as 4th line center with a possible Toronto Marlies vet being acquired because of the Eakins factor. My guess is we're trying to land Joe Colburne. His size would be a very welcome addition to this team. Don't know what it would cost to get him out of Toronto though. |

Damn, too bad they bought out Belanger as FO winning bottom six C is pretty much a description of all he is good for. |

he believes it's 100%, but gillis shut him down for his own safety and sake. i think malhotra is actually debating on retiring. |

Lander the's only weak link there. They should have signed Lapierre, but a 4th line C is easy to find. |

wonder if MPS on the 3rd line with Gordon'll help him develop his 2 way game a lot
I'd also (frank)in love it if Jagr signed in EDM |

EDM still needs a 4C, 2LW, a 1D, n maybe a 3RW.
Jones has to bounce back to his 2011-2012 self if he expects to be that 3RW. |

Where would we get a 1D from? Nobody is looking to trade one any time soon and even if they are, there's a gigantic premium on those. Andrew Ference was a great signing; a top 4 defenseman is pretty good to me. Maybe one more like Coburn is good too. |

1D probably won't happen this year. If it does, you look at a team like NYR that has M Staal, Girardi n Mcdonagh n have 11M to sign McD, stepan, and hagelin.
Send some package of prospects n picks, maybe even MPS in their for M Staal maybe |
