Ahhh....does anyone really believe the Oil were even considering Seguin over Hall? That was them toying with the media to hype the draft and drum up excitement .they had Hall penciled in the second they won the Lottery.
- Jeropotato

A guy who won back to back memorial cup MVP's (never mind a memorial cup) plus league leading scorer versus a guy who tied his points. Pretty obvious to me as well

Hall FTW! Team captain in a month, BOOK IT

Stewart is tough and can play both wings.... it would be nice to get him. I doubt Kane is on the market
- Killbot460

Kane is on the market. Heard it a bunch of places. I would offer sheet Stewart. That way we're not playing for draft picks yet again this season. He would cost us a 1st and 3rd.

Ive heard those rumors but I'm unsure if they are legit.

I wouldn't wanna play hard ball with our rfa's coming up. Offer them a 1st and prospect or another pick then.

It wouldn't be a great prospect then. Fedun or Davidson is all I would do or just the 3rd rounder

The thing is Stewart fills a major hole. And if thats all your offer is they will get more from another team.

They wouldn't do that. Reaves has promise at a low cap hit. I think PRV & 1st would get you just stewart. Maybe add a prospect and you could get Cracknell

Which is why I would just offer sheet him and then all they would get is a 1st and 3rd. We need to make sure we lock up RNH and Yak before they become RFA's or we're asking for the same. Its fair game if you ask me. Otherwise it wouldn't be part of the CBA.

I am sure you are correct regarding Reaves.
I basically added him just because we need toughness.
Actually can't see them moving Stewart either.
As suggested by others Perron or Oshie seem to be the guys most likely moved.

Oshie would be a solid choice as well.

If i was Mac Daddy T i would first inquire about Stewart. He would instantly replace Semenko!!! Finally

It's a risky game though.... but they would most likely match it

And if they matched it they would be in a horrible place cap wise. Which is when I would turn around and offer sheet Pietrangelo huge money and they wouldn't be able to match it.

Question marks on center, goaltending, and defence. Moving into a division with 4 of the toughest teams in the NHL.

Playoffs are not a lock.

It seems the oilers will have to overpay to get anyone here.....
- Killbot460

In free agency, yes, but why in trade ? Divisional rivals might ask more but otherwise that makes no sense at all.

If you match an offer sheet you can't trade that player for 1 year so that option is out the window.

Would Brad Boyes cost to much? I think he is an older version of Clarkson, Big body to fit on the Second line. The only problem I see is he is listed at a RW, and were looking for LW.

Brendan Morrow would be nice. Don't know how much he has left in the tank though.

St. Louis now have 14 NHL forwards and still need to sign Chris Stewart who gives the team "balls" as per a source close to the team...

...the Blues also likely have an internal team cap...in otherwords something has to give up front with the likes of a Perron or Oshie

Why tweet if oilers weren't interested. Hmmm. I would prefer Stewart but he likely stays

- ystoil

I don't know. Stewart's history with the blues has been a lot like Gagner's with the Oil. He was in the dog house for about 3 years about 2 years ago. They had him on the fourth line and giving him no minutes. There was something going on but I don't know what. All I know is that I had him in my hockey pool and he was playing no minutes on a terrible line. I just knew it was something with management. He was upset and a rift formed between the two groups.

Apparently over the last two years he has turned that around and everything is good. This might be like Marleau where this is actually true however I don't think it is. I think stewart is going to make the blues pay for his service and I am sure they have a price point they are not willing to go over on him. I also think Stewart would benefit from a change of scenery. However that is what I got from a few TSN articles over the years (I have him in a long term fantasy pool).

I think if the blues were to part with any forward that lowers their cap hit, Stewart would be the number one guy. I think they are going to have troubles signing him. I think he is in play and I would offer sheet him.
