I'd rather see the PRV that showed up at the beginning of this year finishing he checks and getting the puck as a result, then taking it to the net. He went back to his finesse form after a few weeks and became less effective, taking the dreaded high 40 footer looking for a rebound that never came.

The Oil need some nasty... though other than the few weeks to start this shortened season, I've always thought PRV was too soft for what the Oil needed a guy his size to be.

miller won't be coming to edm this season, nor next season or after. next will be an oiler. he will focus on going to a a california state to be close to his wife's career location.

if dubnyk fails, just find another goalie. worry about that 25-40 games into the season.

Sense we've got the vanek trade proposals going i thought i'd add in my two bits. Vanek is a guy i like a lot. Miller i do NOT want. So here what i propose and i admit i'm pretty bad at valueing players. Lets try and be reasonable here.

To Buf- pajaarvi, merencen, first round pick in 2014 and a second round pick in 2015 that becomes a first if the oilers make it to the conference semi-finals
to EDM- vanek and stafford

Over payment? Underpayment? Need different players? Maybe different stipulations for the second first round pick?

Additionally, would you be willing to send Teemu Hartikainen instead of Paajarvi? He is more in line of what Buffalo is going for in terms of players.

MacT went out and got Labarbera to specifically back him up.
From what I read in his interview, the two have been training partners for 5 years now. You can't luck out any better than that on an ideal tandem.

Management is giving Dubnyk 1 year to prove himself as the bonafide starter, so let's speculate about this next spring instead.

I really wanted to see Hemsky and Jagr play together last year as it seemed like a logical fit, but i think MacT has burnt the bridge with Hemmer for a possible return. And to be honest, I really don't want Jagr and his 50 pound a$$ slowing us down !!!

Nobody wants Vanek and that terrible contract (you're welcome by the way). Ryan Miller has about as much value as Roberto Luongo. Even a goalie starved team in Philly balked at adding Miller.

You would have a better chance trading Leino than you would Vanek and or Miller. So all you Sabre fans can (frank) off and get back to fillating Grigorenko with Garth.

As for Stafford, he has as much value as Hemsky does. In fact I think he's just as lazy and useless as Dustin Penner.

yes

stafford value is pretty much the same as hemsky, give or take little bits and pieces. vanek on the other hand has one year left. i would not acquire him unless edm is definitely going to be a playoff team next year...especially trading the 2014 first round pick which edm can possibly be on the bottom 10 again for draft.

i'd keep teemu for now. he's gone to khl to gain more experience and playing time. he will only grow as a better player with more experience under his belt considering his age. also the type of player edm is seeking for.

Why would Jagr go to EDM? He's 41...the guy wants be playing for a contender and a Cup...sorry but Jagr isn't looking to babysit kids at this point in his career.

When you look at the right side for at least 10 teams Hemskey would be a very good upgrade. If you package Hemmer with say Paajarvi there is either a decent center or d man out there.
